1 Page PLU-TV & AT&T CATV CLASSROOM/OFFICE BUILDING EQUIPMENT LISTS & DIAGRAMS CLT CATV.doc CENTER FOR LEARNING & TECHNOLOGY (CLT) The following is a list of equipment needed to cable and provide 100 outlets for the AT&T Campus Cable System; and PLU-TV Campus Cable System Backhaul Return to the A/V Production Rm 104, in the new Center For Learning & Technology. Page 2 contains the CATV System description, cable pulling and connector installation instructions. Page 3 and 4 contain the Contractor(s) supplied Directional Couplers, Splitters, Coaxial Cables, Connectors and tools required to distribute AT&T's 1000 Megahertz Broadband spectrum throughout the building with sufficient signal levels to provide noise-free pictures on all outlets. Page 5 and 6 contain the PLU Television Services supplied Amplifiers, Attenuators, Equalizers, Directional Couplers and Splitters required to distribute AT&T's 1000 Megahertz Broadband spectrum throughout the building with sufficient signal levels to provide noise-free pictures on all outlets. Page 7 contains the estimated Total costs "NOTE: If Plenum rated coaxial cable is required the price will increase from $ to $ an increase of $

2 CENTER FOR LEARNING AND TECHNOLOGY - CATV SYSTEM Page 2 There will be (2) CATV systems entering the building from the vault on the NE corner of the South Wing. (1) PLU-CATV and (1) AT&T BROADBAND CATV. Both systems will enter the building on RG-11 flooded (waterproof underground rating) coax. PLU-CATV will be Belden 1618A. AT&T BROADBAND CATV will be Comscope RG-11. Immediately upon entering the building at the Telecom Entry Rm 151 both systems will transition via inline splice/ground block from flooded coax to Belden 1617A RG-11 coax and will be bonded to the Telecommunications ground at this point. PLU Television Services will provide the inline splice/ground blocks, connectors and labor for this transition. Both systems will then be extended to the Amplifier location in the Comm Room 158 leaving enough cable to reach the most distant point in the rooms with at least 10 feet of ends coiled on the plywood backboards in each room. PLU Television Services will provide all CATV equipment and installations inside the Comm Room 158. All coaxial cable designated Belden 1189A, 1617A and 1618A shall be Belden. There will be no substitutes. There will be (2) Belden 1617A RG-11 trunk cables pulled in the conduits and cable raceways from the Amplifier location in the Comm Room 158 to the A/V Production Room 104. (1) will be designated AT&T-CATV and (1) will be designated PLU-CATV. There will be enough cable to reach the most distant point in each room with at least 10 feet of ends coiled on the plywood backboards in Rooms 158 and 104. All CATV cables will be pulled in accordance with the following Minimum Bend Radius and Maximum Pulling Tension: Belden 3 inches Minimum Bending Radius and 162 Pounds Maximum Pulling Tension; Belden 4.5 inches Minimum Bending Radius and 308 Pounds Maximum Pulling Tension (see attatched Belden Technical Data Sheets) The trunk cable designated AT&T-CATV will be pulled in the conduits and cable raceways as indicated on the CATV Wiring Diagram (attatched). All Amplififers, Directional Couplers, Splitters and Terminations designated Blonder-Tongue and by Part number shall be Blonder-Tongue. There will be no substitutes. All Directional Couplers, Splitters and Terminations will be purchased and installed by the Contractor(s) with the exception of the Amplifiers and equipment in Telecom Entry Room 151, Comm Room 158, Comm Rooms 119, 239, 259 & 316 and A/V Production Room 104 which will be purchased and installed by PLU-Television Services using building funds. The locations of the Directional Couplers and Splitters will be as indicated on the CATV Wiring Diagram and be chosen to allow easy access by PLU staff for testing and troubleshooting. All such locations will be out of the normal traffic patterns and above a removable drop ceiling panel. All such devices will be attatched to the outside edge of the cable raceways with at least 36" (3') of slack loop into and out of each device. All CATV cables from Rm 104 to the A/V Production Wall and Floor Boxes in Rooms 105, 106, 115, , 163 and 206 will be included in the A/V Production cable bundles. All CATV cables from the Splitters in the other Classrooms to the A/V Projector - Instructor Console Floor Boxes will accompany those cable bundles. All CATV cables from the Spliters to the Telecommunications Outlet boxes will follow the CAT5e cable paths and conduits. All connectors and tools designated PPC and by Part number shall be PPC. There will be no substitutes. All connectors installed by Contractor(s) will be in accordance with Belden and PPC designated tools and installation proceedures. There will be a representative of Pacific Lutheran University Television Services on site as Monitor during ALL cable pulls; Pacific Lutheran University Television Services will terminate all cables at the Wall Boxes and Floor Boxes with the required connectors and solder joints.

3 PLU will supply all Electronic Equipment, Racks, Wall Box and Floor Box Connector Panels, Connectors and associated installations using building funds The Contractor(s) will supply all Cables, Pulling Lubricant, Velcro Ties, Poly Line Pull String and associated installations. THE CATV SYSTEMS WILL COMPLY WITH ALL FCC & FAA REGULATIONS AS TO LEAKAGE. PLU-TV WILL TEST THE SYSTEMS UPON ACTIVATION.
