CSC was founded in 2009, one year after its founder, Debbie Zelman, was told that she had Stage IV advanced, incurable stomach cancer. When she was diagnosed in 2008, her chances of being alive in five years were less than five percent. There were - and still are - few treatment options for this devastating disease and no progress has been made in survival rates. When Debbie was diagnosed, she was forty years old, married to a physician, the mother of three young children, and a practicing attorney. She founded CSC which is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness about stomach cancer, advancing funding for research, and providing education and support internationally to patients, families, and caregivers. CSC seeks as its ultimate goal to make the cure for stomach cancer a reality. While she has been fighting for her own life, Debbie has also been trying to educate the public and help other stomach cancer patients change their odds. We ask you to assure the success of our event by generously becoming an individual or corporate sponsor.
