3 SUPERIOR TECHNOLOGY THE BRIGHTEST COLOURS 2 High CLO means everything s bright Many manufacturers only quote the brightness of their projectors White Light Output, but for a true picture of projector quality you also need to take into account Colour Light Output (CLO). CLO measures the brightness of red, green and blue light from a projector, and can often be significantly lower than the rated White Light Output. If this is the case, images can appear dull. 5 Which features? Key features 1 Resolution 2 Brightness Resolution refers to the number of pixels that make up a display. The higher the resolution the greater the detail and sharpness in the projected image. The highest current level is WUXGA ( ) widescreen. There are two types of brightness: colour brightness and white brightness. Colour brightness is the best way to ensure optimum viewing of important data and colour images. White brightness indicates how brightly a monochrome image is projected. 3 Contrast ratio 4 Connectivity This is the degree of difference between the lightest and darkest areas of the projected image. A higher contrast ratio produces bright whites and deep blacks for the clearest picture quality. Modern digital connections such as HDMI, DisplayPort and SDI offer the best in image quality, while LAN and Wi-Fi connections enable flexible networking. You can even present PC-free directly from USB memory or smartphones/tablets. 5 Throw ratio 6 Image adjustment This indicates what image size can be generated from a specified throw distance. For example, Epson ultra-short-throw projectors can be positioned just inches from the screen, ideal for small meeting rooms. Wider image adjustment gives more options to position a projector and still achieve perfect images i.e. in smaller rooms, or at an angle to the screen.
