Based on PDC s operation know-how, content management has been greatly improved, offering an at-a-glance view of what content is played on what terminal. 5 AFFICHER TRANSITIONS SEAMLESS PLAYBACK Significantly reduce the contents-to-contents-transition black screen time. A transitional black screen was unavoidable when switching contents. Thanks to our proprietary playback engine, the black screen transition time is reduced to mere 0.1 second acheiving a nearly seamless transition to the naked eye. 6 AFFICHER SPLIT SCREENS SMOOTH SCREEN SPLITTING Screen splitting with significantly reduced screen jitters. A physical screen can be split into up to three parts to play one video, display one still image and one scrolling ticker. Our newly developed playback engine significantly reduces jitters when splitting screens, which was quite noticeable. * The reduction is subject to the PC performance. 7 AFFICHER HTTP HTTP-COMPLIANT COMMUNICATIONS Minimum network changes to install. AFFICHER is compliant with HTTP standards. With regard to security, no port configuration (such as adding a port or forwarding a port) is required if web pages can be browsed. *Checking your network settings beforehand is strongly recommended. *HTTPS protocol can be supported. 8 AFFICHER SETUP AUTOMATIC KITTING AND SETUP FUNCTIONS No on-site operations by service staff required. Set the set-top box settings from the operation terminal. Use the operation terminal s GUI to change and to apply settings, such as resolution, video frequency, restart time, audio output, PC audio volume and bandwidth restrictions. Maintenance and installation man hours are significantly reduced by eliminating previously required on-site settings and operations. CONTROL SCREEN IMAGE Manually setting up the set-top box on-site was required to change its resolution, audio output, etc. Now, the set-top box can be setup remotely from the operation terminal. 9 AFFICHER REPORTING DETAILED PC FAULT DETECTION REPORTING AND RECOVERY FUNCTIONS A change in resolution is automatically corrected to minimize the effects on playback. If the settings (such as resolution and audio output) of the set-top box change due to a server fault or other such problem, the settings are automatically restored to the server-set settings. This will minimize the effects of broadcast troubles. In addition, the operator is immediately informed of problems for prompt detection and recovery. CONTROL SCREEN IMAGE AFFICHER effortlessly monitors and manages both display devices (refer to the next slide for supported manufacturers) and broadcast errors, significantly reducing the operational burden. Other systems only monitor the settop box hardware.
