2 Introduction HD VIDE PLAYERS The JMP 9600 HD and JMP 9600 K are high resolution video players that provide D and D playback of JPEG 000 encoded video files at up to 50 Mbps. The players are ideal for entertainment and commercial applications where superior image quality is critical to the audience experience. The JMP 9600 offers two playback channels that can be independently controlled or synchronized for super-widescreen or D displays. Superior JPEG 000 ompression JPEG 000 compression is the superior choice for high resolution image playback. :: color sampling and bit color depth provide fine granularity and minimal contouring, a marked improvement compared to MPEG which is limited to 8 bit color depth. JPEG 000 was chosen by the digital cinema industry as the best option for film replacement in commercial cinema presentations. JMP 9600 K System Synchronization The JMP 9600 K features genlock input and linear time code for synchronization with external equipment and other JMP 9600-K units. Synchronize two JMP 9600 K to create K resolution playback. Front Panel with onfidence Monitor The front panel provides transport controls, a variable speed shuttle knob and a color LD that displays the user interface, as well as any video being played. A special blend feature allows the operator to superimpose the user interface on top of the moving video background for simultaneous viewing. Web Browser Access A Web browser can be used to access all video clips, manage playlists, control playback and transport of the current file, and for setup for system configuration. JPEG 000 HD Software Encoder A JPEG 000 HD software encoder is included with each player. reate sequential frames in Final ut Pro, Adobe Premier, or your favorite editing tool, and use the software encoder to create JPEG 000 files. This software supports TIF, BMP, TGA,, PNG, and DPX sequential frames and two channels of audio. 3 R R Application: Single JMP 9600 HD HD VIDE PLAYERS This application features a single JMP 9600 HD supplying independent or synchronized video playback. Twenty video clips have been prepared and downloaded into the JMP 9600 HD using the standard JPEG 000 encoding software and FTP - File Transfer Protocol. The video clips are JPEG 000-encoded, 080p, frame, and high definition at :: sampling with stereo audio at 5 Mbps per video stream. The JMP 9600 HD has one terabyte of storage, allowing it to hold 6 hours of content at this encoded bitrate. An external control system sends serial RS play clip commands to the JMP 9600 HD. The 0 video files are played back synchronized or independently depending on presentation requirements. 4 R R V KHZ -0 + N 6 5 Application: Dual JMP 9600 K HD VIDE PLAYERS A single, wide format projection display consisting of two K projection systems is required to playback content continuously across a wide display. Two JMP 9600 K units are configured in this application to playback synchronized K content with an output of 096x080 pixels. ontent has been produced to be two screens wide. The production and editing process has created 096 x 080 material, which is split into two sets of 08x080 sequential frames and then is encoded using Extron s JPEG 000 Professional Software Encoder into JPEG 000 content. Sixteen channels of audio are encoded with the video. The content is loaded on each JMP 9600 K as 08x080 resolution for playback at 0 frames per second at :: color sampling using 50 Mbps bit rate. Dual-link HDSDI outputs are connected from each JMP 9600 K and supplied to the two large format projectors. The show control system supplies the linear time code, providing a common time reference for the JMP 9600 K as well as other system elements. An HD sync signal supplies a common reference to the two JMP 9600 K units so that vertical sync of the outputs will be aligned. The show control system sends file start commands to both units and they use the to reference the starting point. A single, continuous image is played back on both screens providing a wide, panoramic presentation. This same type of JMP 9600 K system synchronization can be used to create D or K content playback using two or four JMP 9600 K units.
