3 NVISION Compact Routers: comprehensive range The NVISION Compact range is highly versatile, and ideally suited to utility routing applications. They are available for all core formats, including triple rate 3Gbps/HD/SD, in matrix sizes from 8 x 8 to 32 x 32. The 3Gbps routers protects your small router investment well into the future, with 1080p 50/60 support and Dolby E and DVB-ASI compliance. HD/SD SMPTE 292M 1.485Gbps and 1.483Gbps HD models are equally clean, equally robust, and very affordable. Many applications do not require 3Gbps data rates, making these re-clocking routers a perfect fit for HD and SD facilities. All HD and SD Compact routers are now available without reclockers SD SMTPE 259M SD models are the affordable solution for 270 Mbps and DVB-ASI operation. They provide non-inverting operation with any input to any output, with switching on the frame boundary, ensuring Dolby interoperability, even with embedded audio. AES The NVISION range represents the best in the industry for digital audio routing, with frame accurate digital audio switching. AES routers operate in either synchronous or asynchronous modes, and are Dolby E compliant for phase accurate multi-channel audio. Asynchronous routers allow easy interconnections when different audio sample rates are present, as with desktop audio production using 44.1, 48, 96, and 192 khz audio formats. Analog audio The analog audio routers offer exceptional audio fidelity with +24 dbu input and output levels, and virtually no crosstalk. They are an ideal solution for SMPTE Longitudinal Time Code (SMPTE 12M LTC). Machine control The NVISION range s patented Dynamic Port Architecture simplifies machine control with configurable bi-directional data routing. Only NVISION port routers offer this bi-directional capability; other routing vendors require two ports to accomplish the same task. This saves power, rack space, and cabling. Analog video The analog composite video routers offer exceptional signal path linearity, and are designed to have very low differential gain and low differential phase to ensure no visible signal distortion. 350

They can also be used together (and with controllers) to create larger systems for routing, switching, and distribution. The CRSC software simplifies the configuration of the routers, whether they are part a small local system, or part of a much more complex routing installation with NVISION and third party routing devices. Compact durable design The Compact range of routers is designed for ease of service and field upgradeability. BNC connectors are mounted to the rear metal frame giving added support for cable weight and rocksolid routing for high vibration environments such as trucks, ships and helicopters. Easy control panel expansion The Compact routers unique modular design promotes easy system expansion using modular local control panels that can attach directly to the front of a compact router. The remote control panels operate as stand-alone devices, without a router as a base. Systems that require more sources than destinations such as non-square monitoring applications, are easily supported with the combination of compact routers and either local or remote control panels. 351

9 NVISION Compact CQX HD/SD router with clean and quiet switching The NVISION Compact CQX is a 16 x 8 router which offers Clean and Quiet outputs for performing seamless video and audio transitions. The CQX provides two Clean and Quiet outputs for HD/SD signals, and six auxiliary outputs are available for preview or monitoring. It also offers support for up to 16 channels of embedded audio. The CQX s unique design supports ±3 line buffer, which reduces the need for costly timing equipment. The line buffer allows the router to realign sources which are grossly out of time, and switch them with minimal delay. This switching is performed without any video artifacts or audio pops that are typically associated with a transition of this nature. Robust, compact and affordable, the NVISION Compact CQX is ideal for disaster recovery back-up and bypass master control applications. It can also be used as a low-cost alternative to a master control system. Several transition types are available, including V-fade, cut-fade, fade-cut, and crossbar. The CQX features two separate emergency bypass inputs with relays to ensure critical signal passage, even in the event of a power outage. The NVISION Compact CQX is based on the same durable and scalable design as the rest of the NVISION Compact router range. It can operate as a standalone unit, and can also be driven by an external control system. 12 Flexible system architecture and control The NVISION Compact router control panel system is highly scalable, and allows up to four routers to be controlled from up to 16 remote control panels without the use of an external controller. The routers are can be remotely controlled and monitored via a serial connection and over Ethernet, using NVISION protocols or other third party control software. 13 Flexible system configuration The NVISION Compact Router System Configurator (CRSC) software is included with every router. This Java-based software provides all the tools and flexibility needed to custom tailor compact router systems to optimize and improve the efficiency of your facility. The software can configure IP settings, partition routers into multiple levels, program remote control panels for device level control, build salvos, and reconfigure large routing networks to meet changing facility workflows. Configurations can be devised offline, and easily uploaded over a network to the system. Intuitive help system Configurator has simple help screens and menus to guide users through each step. 360
