HDMI HDMI changes everything Launched in 2004, the HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) format transformed everyone s experience of watching television and movies. The HDMI interconnect allowed new high definition sources to be connected to flat panel high definition screens. HDMI is now a vital component in every home cinema system, enabling digital signals to be transferred in both volumes and speeds previously thought impossible.
