Read the text and then answer in ENGLISH the questions that follow. 2

QUESTIONS (a) Explain why the name worked out well for the girl. 2 Marks (b) What evidence in the text suggests that when Speranţa was growing up she might have a career as a gymnast? 5 (c) After attending the gymnastics school, what contributed to Speranţa s success at such a young age? 3 (d) Explain why we know that the trainer was happy with Speranţa s thirteenth place. 2 (e) How did Speranţa s life change when she went to the gymnastics school? 2 3 PLEASE TURN OVER

8. Read the text and then answer in ENGLISH the question that follows.
