Artrage produces the FRINGE WORLD Festival, the largest annual event in WA and the third largest Fringe Festival in the world. The 2017/18 Rooftop Movies season will run from 1 December 2017 to 31 March 2018. About the Role The Rooftop Movies Site & Venue Manager oversees smooth, customer orientated operations across the season ensuring all staff and contractors working at the venue are focussed on delivering fantastic patron experiences. The role also performs some technical duties including ingestion of digital cinema content, formatting cinema playlists and fulfilling projectionist duties on some nights. The Rooftop Movies Site & Venue Manager works closely with the Rooftop Movies Program Manager and oversees a team of Venue Supervisors alongside other food and beverage, front-of-house and security personnel to make Rooftop Movies the most memorable outdoor cinema experience in Perth. Working with and reporting to the Artrage Chief Executive, Marketing Director and Production Manager at various times over the season, the position also plays a key role in assisting with the build and bump-out of the Rooftop Movies site an exciting and creative project in its own right. 1

The role drops back to equivalent of four days a week during the season. Position Description Position Title Reports to Direct Reports Works with Rooftop Movies Site & Venue Manager FRINGE WORLD Production Manager Nil Rooftop Movies Program Manager, Rooftop Movies Venue Supervisors, Box Office staff, Candy Bar staff, Bar Staff, Food Vendors, Security Key Accountabilities Planning, Venues Operations and Maintenance Maintain safe work practices pre, during and post event operations. Assist the Production Manager with finalising all hires, purchases and infrastructure deliveries and collections. Assist the Production Manager with rosters, inductions and daily task lists for Site Crew. Manage the successful bump in and out of the event site. Oversee the build and pack of the Candy Bar. Ensure that all venue facilities are in clean working order. Perform venue operation check of facilities including lights, bins, toilets, blackboards, signage and furniture. Preserve the site to a high standard, and ensure that the venue runs smoothly. Ensure venue signage is installed and maintained. Answer after hours calls or texts, and assist staff when necessary. Cinema Operations Operate and maintain digital cinema equipment, including sound system, projector and server. Manage the ingestion of digital cinema content to digital server. Manage the timely acquisition and return of cinema content. Testing films, cinematic equipment and sound system. Health and Safety Ensure all OH&S Infrastructure onsite has been tested and is compliant. Oversee the health and safety of all staff, identify hazards, assess risks and make changes where necessary. Ensure working practices adhere to Rooftop Movies Health & Safety Policies and Procedures and with broader Health & Safety regulations. In particular, ensure operational delivery is safe at all times and conforms to the applicable legislative and licensing requirements. Notify the Production Manager of any Health & Safety issues that arise onsite or in the workshop. Venue Staff Management Oversee Front of House and Box Office staff and provide assistance where possible. Oversee security staff, provide a nightly brief and assist where possible. General Patron Services and customer service duties. Ensure excellent customer service and patron experience. 3
Reporting Complete a daily venue maintenance checklist and report any issues to the Production Manager. Report any staff issues to Program Manager. Customer Service Respond to enquiries and complaints from the general public when on site. Work with security personnel on communicating entry requirements to patrons. Deliver a high standard of customer service for patrons, clients and stakeholders of Rooftop Movies. Team and Development Assist the Production Manager with staff recruitment, rosters and daily staff schedules. Develop a close working relationship and work collaboratively with the FRINGE WORLD Production, Operations, Site and Technical staff. Work collaboratively with all other Rooftop Movies team members including the Artrage and Fringe World marketing and partnership teams and other colleagues in order to meet organisational objectives. Assist in the management and efficiency of all Production team members, resolve performance issues and provide feedback to encourage development. Other Duties Skills Undertake any other duties assigned by the Executive Team, which might reasonably be deemed to be within the scope of the role and having regard for the skills and qualifications relating to the role.
