II. Reading Comprehension Read the following passages and answer the respective questions that follow. Audition and Selection More than a hundred young students turned up to audition for a part in the famous musical Romeo and Juliet. The girls were hoping to play the lead role of Juliet while the boys wanted to be Romeo. Those who got through the audition would have a chance of having a role in the musical. Everyone waited in the school hall to register. They were each given a name tag with a number. Then they were ushered into a theatre. It was an agonising wait. Each one was asked to introduce self in front of a panel of teachers. The actual audition took only five minutes, but the teachers took a long time deliberating before calling the next person. Most of them were so nervous that by the time they stepped on stage, they were tongue-tied. Some began stuttering, much to the disappointment of the teachers. Those who mumbled were immediately told to leave. There was a look of irritation on the teachers faces. It had been stated that only those who could project their voices should go for the audition.
