The JOURNAL OF THE HISTORY OF MEDICINE AND ALLIED SCIENCES publishes work relating to all aspects of the history of medicine and the various sciences that impinge on medicine. Manuscripts not exceeding 10,000 words (30 pages) are invited. Preparation of Manuscripts Manuscripts for publication should be addressed to Miss Elizabeth H. Thomson, Editor, 333 Cedar Street, New Haven, Conn. 06510. They should be typewritten in double space on paper 814 by 11 inches in size, with quoted material also typed in double space but indented five characters. References. Literature cited should be arranged alphabetically by author and typewritten in double space. Each reference should contain name(s) or initial(s) of author(s) and full title of paper or work. Journal articles should also include name of journal, year, volume number, and complete pagination in that order. Abbreviations of journal citations should conform to the style used in World List of Scientific Periodicals Published in the Years 1900-1960 (3d ed., London, Butterworths, 1962). Some proportion of the added costs for an unusual amount of quoted material or footnotes may be charged to the author who will be warned of this fact when a MS. is accepted.
