Focus Statement The students will use correct fingering and proper touch techniques to key alphanumeric information.
Prior Learning If you have two items on a key, you have to shift for the one on the top. Example: hold down the left shift and key the semi-colon key to get the colon.
Relevance It is important that you learn to use the shift keys properly. Hold down the shift key while keying the alphabet key.
I Do caps lock, question mark, apostrophe, hyphen, and quotation mark I will model and demonstrate how to key the caps lock with the left pinky. I will model and demonstrate how to key the question mark with the right pinky and left shift. I will model how to key the apostrophe with the right pinky and the quotation mark by holding down the left shift and keying the apostrophe. I will reach up to the top row with the right pinky to key the hyphen.
