They are confident because Rory tells him mom there won t be any left. Derek says his pizza box will be empty in a few minutes. 2. What is the first sign that either Derek or Rory might not be able to eat all of the pizza? The first sign that Rory can t eat everything is when he refuses to eat the crusts. 3. How do you think the boys are feeling as they reach for their fourth slice? How can you tell? When the boys reach their fourth slice they re starting to feel full. The boys each offer a slice of pizza to Bolivia. 4. There is an example of an idiom on page 36. What is it? The idiom is, Maybe we shouldn t be such pigs. This is when someone eats a lot. 5. Why do you think Bolivia says, I wouldn t think of depriving you when the boys offer her a slice of pizza? Bolivia says this because she knows that the boys are getting full, and she wants to make them try to live up to their claims. 6. Why does Bolivia wait until the boys are full before she takes a piece of pizza? Bolivia waits until the boys are full because she knows that she can eat as much as them. She s just waiting for a chance to show them up. 7. Compare the way Rory feels on page 40 with the way he felt at the beginning of the story. At first he was worried about keeping his friends. Now he feels happy and sure that Derek and Bolivia are his friends. 8. In the story the three friends eat a whole lot of pizza, which is probably their favorite food.
