The Belt and Road International Film Exchange and Press Conference of the 2nd On April 22 nd, 2017 at 9 a.m., Canada China Art-Tech (CCAT) successfully held the CCIFF Beijing press conference and related activities at the Central Hall of China National Film Museum. In this press conference, CCIFF announced that the Second Edition of will be held in Montreal from September 15th to 18th, 2017. Fingerprints for Guest Speakers "The Beauty of Film" Summit Forum "The Beauty of Film" Summit Forum aims in studying the phenomenon of universalization in film production, seeking the cultural philosophy and literary thought behind the film works, discovering the creative law and aesthetic characteristics of film, exploring the relationship between the film art and other art, exploring film art's aesthetic value and social functions, as well as the aesthetic relationship between the audience and the film art. Since joining the Beijing International Film Festival main forum in 2014, "The Beauty of Film" Summit Forum has been building up a good reputation in the Chinese film industry, audience, and the community. It has gradually become a brand activity in film culture with high influence. Guest Speaker Mr. Matt Zimbel In this section, director Mr. Matt Zimbel gave a speech on cross cultural co-production. Born in New York who later moved to Canada, Mr. Matt Zimbel is producer, musician, host, and artistic director. Mr. Zimbel has served on the board of directors for the Canadian Academy of Arts and Sciences for 6 years and was president of the board of directors of the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame. He has received Juno Awards, Gemini Awards, ACTRA Awards and numerous other industry accolades. Matt has visited China many times and has contributed great efforts to promote cultural exchanges between China and will continue to do so with Canada. He is also the co-director of the documentary Zimbelism.

China National Film Museum "Belt and Road" International Film Exchanges During this press conference, China National Film Museum introduced the "Belt and Road" International Film Exchanges which comprises of the "Belt and Road" International Film Seminar, the "Belt and Road" International Film Screening, the Gold Ribbon International Film Festival and the International Tour of Chinese Films. Every year, bilateral and multilateral film screening events are co-hosted with the countries along the Belt and Road and the "Gold Ribbon Films" are chosen and released after screening. During the "Gold Ribbon International Film Festival," the results of screening and promotion were posted. In addition, an exhibition tour is organized to comprehensively exhibit the development of Chinese films since its emergence in 1905, as well as Chinese representative films and outstanding filmmakers from all periods. Mr. Chen Zhiqiang form the National Museum of China The International Tour of Chinese Films is extracted from China National Film Museum's permanent exhibitions on the history of Chinese cinema and the achievements of the individual filmmakers, which contain seven sections and about 110 panels, displaying Chinese filmmakers' exploration towards film art and technology as well as the Chinese nation's glory and dream from hundreds of years. Mr. Chen Zhiqiang has announced that China National Film Museum will join the second edition of Canada China International Film Festival as one of the Chinese sponsors. Press Conference of the 2nd This Beijing Press Conference introduces seven major events in the second edition of Canada China International Film Festival, including the Opening Ceremony, People s Film Screening (New: TV Drama), Women s Voice in Film and Television, Entertainment Technology Forum & Film Technology Exhibition, Canada China Co-production Project Pitch (New: Script Competition), celebrating events on the Canada s 150th anniversary and Montreal s 375th anniversary, and the Closing Ceremony. The Premier Edition of was held successfully in Montreal in September 2016. During the first Edition, CCIFF received numerous support from government officials, important leaders in the film industry, well-known filmmakers, and personages of all circles from China and Canada. During this press conference, CCIFF received greeting messages from the honorary president of the 2 nd, Mr. Qiankuan Li, promotion ambassadors Jing Hu and Yunhao Song, famous actor Liuyuan Ding, documentary director Tongdao Zhang, director Yinan Ding, Lin Sang, the ambassador of technology Light-Cluster Q and awarded guests from the Premier Edition of.

Honorary President Mr. Li Qiankuan from CCIFF Mr. Li Qiankuan believes that Chinese film should be moved towards the "Belt and Road" countries and the world. he also referred to the future cooperation with Canada China Art-Tech on making a film reflecting multicultural and ethnic fusion, aiming at joining in the Gold Ribbon International Film Festival. Each year, features a different theme and holds splendid activities. The festival in 2016 featured the China Canada Year of People-to-People and Culture Exchange. In 2017, the festival will feature the theme celebrating Canada s 150th anniversary and Montreal s 375th anniversary. In the process, CCIFF will host a series of events to facilitate relationship building across the two nations. The Year of Canada-China Tourism, the Year of the People s Republic of China s 70th Anniversary, and the Year of Canada-China 50 Year Relationships will be the themes for 2018, 2019, and 2020 respectively. CCIFF is committed to building a cultural bridge between Canada and China through arts. Mr. Zhang Fan from The Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC)

Mr. Zhang Fan, Director of the Film Department of the State Administration of Radio, Film, and Television (SARFT) also delivered a speech at this event. First, he felicitated the success of the Belt and Road International Film Exchange as well as the Press Conference of the 2nd Canada China International Film Festival. The 5th Plenum of the 18th CPC Central Committee mentioned an important concept of development, including innovation, coordination, environment, openness and sharing. It is not only the objective of the economic development, but it also contains a set of guiding ideologies: innovation as a direction for development, coordination as to carry the overall situation in mind, environment as to protect the ecosystem, opening Asia-Pacific to the world as suggested by the Belt and Road Initiative, and sharing the results of the Chinese Economic Reform to others. The film and television are new sources of economic growth, and it is a great start point for international collaborations. Moreover, Mr. Zhang Fan expressed his wishes for a long-lasting friendship between China and Canada, as well as for other countries in the world. Meanwhile, in order to facilitate cultural exchange and foster collaboration in the film industry, CCIFF has initiated unique components such as the Classic Film Review and Television Drama screenings. Numerous Canadian and Chinese films have witnessed the special bond between the two countries over years and will continued to be shown to the audience., as a unique film festival that combines art with technology, successfully combined entertainment with technology, has received immense support and recognition by industry professionals. Additionally, the Committee has developed its own Augmented Reality application on the mobile phone for audiences to experience the combination of art and technology. The application will not only provide detailed information regarding the festival events and schedule, but also feature film trailers with the AR technology. Executive Director Ms. Song Miao from CCIFF Song Miao, Director of CCIFF, mentioned that CCIFF aims to promote the collaborations and exchanges between Canada and China, and provide opportunities for inter-college projects as well as student exchanges. With the passion for the Chinese films and the hope of introducing more Canadian films to China, the CCIFF committee will continue to make efforts for the development of CCIFF each year. was established during the year of China-Canada Culture Exchange. Adopting this theme as its central mandate, CCIFF has received support and anticipation from governments of both countries since the beginning. The second edition of Canada China International

festival will continue to serve the artistic industry professionals of both countries and deliver opportunities for cultural exchange throughout the film festival. This year, Canada China International film Festival will still hold press conferences at the 20th Shanghai International Film Festival, which aims to broaden the Chinese film market, promote Chinese film culture, and give Chinese filmmakers more opportunities for cooperation. In addition, CCIFF will also receive creations from the 5th China (Guangzhou) International Chinese Association of Computer Human Interaction video competition. Moreover, the CCIFF committee will host series of events in Los Angeles, Toronto and Ottawa. More information regarding the events and the film festival will be released during the upcoming press conferences. Project and Cooperation Agreements Signed In this press conference, Song Miao, the director of CCIFF and professor at the Concordia University, signed a cooperation agreement on promoting Chinese films under the context of the "Belt and Road" with Mr. Xu Baofeng from the Chinese Culture Research Net, and a cooperation agreement between CCIFF and the National Theatre Company of China with Mr. Luo Dajun. In addition, the co-director of CCIFF, Mr. Serguei A. Mokhov, signed a cooperation agreement with Ms. Ge Shuiying from the Chinese Academy of Sciences Research Communication Center on Canada-China three-dimensional visual technology development.

List of Films Zimbelism and the interaction with the audience After the press conference, the documentary Zimbelism co-directed by Canadian Director Matt Zimbel was screened. The documentary is about the director's father, demonstrating his career as a humanist photographer with persistence and dedication during his 70 years of photographic voyage through the back half of the 20th century. After the screening, director Matt Zimbel exchanged his ideas with the audience.

Mutual exchange between experts in film industry from China and Canada Currently, the film and drama submission platforms are opened. The first round of submissions has successfully ended in February and second round has begun. Everyone is encouraged to submit their films and take part in this extraordinary initiative. Works completed from January 2016 to Mid-July 2017 are eligible for the submissions. The CCIFF Committee warmly welcomes filmmakers, industrial professionals, and corporations from both countries to take part in this cultural and technological entertainment event.
