This form can be difficult to complete, but provides us with critical information about your performance - please complete as much as you possibly can. Where possible this form should be completed by your Production Manager in conjunction with your technical team. Please forward to the relevant persons. Be thorough, use as much detail as you can. You can never give us too much, or irrelevant information. A production meeting will be scheduled three to six weeks prior to your performance. To discuss technical and front of house requirements in person. Information not completed in this form, and not discussed with the National Theatre s Production Manager may result in key aspects of your requirements being excluded. SOME THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW PLEASE READ ME! TECHNICAL STAFF HOURS: Technical Staff will arrive and open the venue at the scheduled start time if you require the venue to be opened and up and running prior to your arrival please specify 15 minutes earlier. Staff must be given a 30 minute break at least every 5 hours. Staff clock off once the stage and dressing rooms have been tidied (and standard sound, light and flys have been reinstated if it s the last performance), building has been shut down and all doors are locked. SAFETY: Absolutely everyone who comes into the venue as a part of your show MUST be inducted. The Induction should be scheduled first thing on the first day. People who have not been inducted are not permitted in the stage or backstage areas. Toolbox meetings are essential and will be held prior to any and all teams commencing work. In addition All managers, supervisors, wranglers and backstage crew must have read the Hirer OH&S Handbook and signed the National Theatre s safety sheet. These documents will be emailed to you and are also available online at http:/venue.nationaltheatre.org.au/client/ This is a required part of our compliance with OH&S Regulations 2007 CONSUMABLES: The theatre keeps stock of many regular consumables you will need, such as tapes. These items are charged on an as opened basis. Please do not use your own tape without confirming suitability with the technical staff. (Masking tape is not permitted within the walls of this venue!) THE PROSCENIUM LINE MUST BE KEPT CLEAR OF OBSTRUCTION AT ALL TIMES FOR FIRE SAFETY REASONS. PLEASE DISCUSS WITH OUR TECHNICAL DEPARTMENT HOW THIS CAN BEST BE ACCOMMODATED FOR YOUR PERFORMANCE. Flying Only experienced National Theatre crew members may operate fly system. Do you intend flying scenery? (max. load per batten 160Kg) You may need to fill out a Hazardous Performance Conditions Form please see the Hazard section of this document. Details: Line Description Weight Rigging Design * All hanging requirements must be discussed at least one week IN ADVANCE with the production manager. Allow 1/2hr per cloth for hanging. * All sets must be adequately flame proofed. * A Certified Rigger prior to bump in must approve any flown set pieces for hanging. * Optimum cloth size is 12m x 6m and should be properly eyeleted, hemmed and should include ties. *All flown scenery elements should arrive with their own rated rigging points and hanging strops. *Venue hire includes 5 sets Black legs and borders, 2 sets black tabs, white cyclorama. LIGHTING All blown theatrical lamps, gobos, extra gels & lamp usage, consumables, etc. will be charged for, please allow for these items in your budget. Will you use the Theatre s standard lighting rig? Standard rig; 3 colour F.O.H wash, LED Parcan stage colour wash, 4 colour wash on cyclorama, decal wash, side light, 5 F.O.H specials & 9 down spots. LIGHTING Do you wish to the National Theatre's extended lighting rig? 6X Moviing lights, 10 LED Parcan side wash and a hazer. Charges apply. Rig is available October to December at heavily discounted rates. Outside of these times additional charges will apply. Do you require any special or extra lighting from the theatre? Anything not included in the standard hire will incur extra charges such as movers and strobe effects Please detail: In the absence of a lighting designer, A National Theatre lighting operator will need to know your intentions for each lighting state. In the pages at the back of this document you can find a sheet that you can copy and fill out to let us know what you require for each scene. An excel version of this sheet can be downloaded from the technical section of our website. Do you require additional loading crew to assist with Lighting? PROJECTION / VISUAL Projection equipment is not included in the standard hire. ARCHIVE / RECORDING If this section is not completed we will be unable to permit recordings of any kind under any circumstances. Charges may apply to the recording of a performance and a technical liaison officer may be appointed for the shoot. Do you intend recording in any way any performance or rehearsal? Video Recording set-up must be completed before the house can be opened to the public. Please allow enough time for the set up. We recommend this should be completed at least one hour before curtain up.
