Welcome to the Courtyard theatre, please feel free to contact us at any time with your requirements and we will do our best to provide a solution to achieve your productions goals. Load in details Street level ramp, with rolling flat access to the stage from the street. For larger loads, it s a 50 easy case push. The lighting truss bottom is trimmed at 4.5m from the stage floor, and all scenery may be affixed to this structure. Stage area [End on layout] SL to SR at DS truss 7m, US to DS Setting line, 6m. Standard 8 by 4 steel deck can be taken through the upstage entrance with ease, Flattage up to 4.5m by.5m can be brought in to the theatre in one go, Items larger than this must be broken into smaller units to fit round corners into the space. Parking There s effectively none and the local variety of parking wardens are known to be a bit keen. Unloading and loading of anything up to large Luton size vehicles are ok so long as they re removed as soon as possible. Late night loading after get outs are fine to put in various places depending on scale of vehicles. There is no car parking for company members and the most effective means of transport is via the London tube, bus and overground network. Dressing Room details There is a small backstage area for quick changes and backstage crossover. This area is a fire exit for the theatre stage area and scenery can not block the access at any time. At the rear of the auditorium there is a curtained off changing area, with capacity for 8 performers at any time.
Lighting A comprehensive lighting rig is provided, controlled by an ETC Express 48/9 desk. Gel stock We do not provide specific gels to colour the rig for incoming companies. While we have bits of colour from previous shows, which you re welcome to use, though we can not guarantee the condition or supply levels. Gobo stock We have a very limited collection of holders and very basic gobos for use. If you have specific requirements, please contact us and we will do our best to help. House rules Please help us to keep the Courtyard a comfortable and pleasant place to work and enjoy by following the requests laid out below Please ensure that all theatre and dressing room areas are to be kept clear and free of food and drink overnight. Lighting, sound and stage setups are to be removed and returned to the base condition after your get out. During your run, please ensure that the auditorium is kept clean each night after the performance, and any glasses are returned to the bar before leaving. " No screws to be fixed to theatre walls or stage floor. All set and props are to be removed by the end of your get out, unless storage is agreed by prior arrangement with the management. Any scenery or props left after your get out, will be disposed of and a late get out charge may be levied. There is NO Smoking within the courtyard grounds at any time, a smoking area is provided on the street by the theatre front door. To ensure the standards of presentation within the theatre, cast members are not to go front of house after 35 minutes before the performance start time. If company members require use of toilet facilities, please ensure that you are not recognisable as part of the company and use the heritage staircase to access the FOH areas.
