269 Kilburn High Road info@kilntheatre.com London NW6 7JR 020 7372 6611 Resident Director (12 months) KILN THEATRE About Kiln Theatre Kiln Theatre creates internationally renowned high-quality, engaging and innovative work which presents the world through a variety of different lenses, amplifying unheard voices into the mainstream. We are located in Brent, the most culturally diverse borough in London, and we are a local venue with international influence. Kiln Theatre produces world-class British and international theatre that reflects the exceptional diversity of its local community. We intend to make theatre for everyone, and in doing so, uncover our shared humanity. Through scale of opportunity, commitment to talent and telling human stories, we want to ensure a rich range of perspectives on Kiln Theatre s stage now, and for the future. The theatre is currently undergoing a redevelopment and will reopen in September 2018 with a new season including Holy Sh!t by Alexis Zegerman, White Teeth by Zadie Smith and adapted by Stephen Sharkey and Approaching Empty by Ishy Din. The renovation will see a larger capacity auditorium seating 290 people, including new seats with better sightlines, a new flexible stage, increased wheelchair accessibility and improved front of house facilities. Artistic Programme Kiln Theatre stages around eight productions per year in our flexible and unique theatre. Our programming consists predominantly of work commissioned specifically for this theatre and produced by Kiln Theatre s artistic team, as well as additional work which is programmed in collaboration with our national or international partners.

Notable Kiln Theatre productions have included The Great Wave by Francis Turnly as a co-production with the National Theatre, The Invisible Hand by Ayad Akhtar, the Olivier Award-winning Handbagged by Moira Buffini, which transferred to the West End, Washington and went on a national tour; and the critically-acclaimed Red Velvet by Lolita Chakrabarti (winner of two Critics Circle Awards and an Evening Standard Award), which transferred to New York and to the West End as part of the Kenneth Branagh season. Kiln Theatre has collaborated with the National Theatre, Sundance Theatre Lab, Complicite, Birmingham Rep, Tiata Fahodzi, Paines Plough, Liverpool Everyman, Eclipse Theatre, Bath Theatre Royal and Plymouth Theatre Royal, amongst others. Creative Learning Our ambitious Creative Learning programme aims to develop the imagination, aspiration and potential of children and young people. We invest in creating meaningful relationships with young people sometimes described as harder to reach or who are passionate about theatre but have limited access to it. Kiln Theatre is part of the Arts Council England s National Portfolio of regularly funded organisations and is funded by Brent Council. It is a registered charity. Further information about Kiln Theatre s programme can be found on our website: www.kilntheatre.com
