EVIEW EV Last Voyage o Queen Anne s Revenge Ryan Meeboer is a music educator ho obtained his degree through the Ontario Institute or Studies in Education at the University o Toronto. As a composer, he has ritten and arranged many pieces or students in concert and azz bands, and has also composed and arranged pieces or small university combos. As a perormer, he has had experience in several groups, including concert and stage bands, chamber choir, vocal azz ensemble, pop groups, acoustic duets, and the Hamilton based sing group, The Main Sing Connection. Ryan Meeboer began studying music at the age o seven through private guitar lessons. During his years in elementary and secondary school, Ryan gained experience in several amilies o instruments. ocusing on music education and theory (including composition and orchestration), he attended McMaster University to achieve his honours degree in music. Recently, there have been some archaeological expeditions to ind the remains o the sunken ship, all o hich is somehat relected by this piece. To give the "pirate-like" eeling to the music, it has been composed in / time, as have many pieces about pirates. It opens ith a scale pattern to give the listener the eeling o being on the rough seas sailed by pirates. The introduction is to be intense to dra the listener into the music. W The main body o the piece is made up o AAA orm, passing the melody beteen several instruments and groing more intense in dynamics, articulation, and rhythmical igures throughout. Countermelodies are also introduced later in the orm to add to the intensity. The middle o the piece is a slo moving, chorale-like section in / time, hich is used to represent the demise o the ship and its cre. It is to be played as legato as possible by all players to create the somber emotion.
