DALLAS, SUNDAY MORNING Directed by Will Ilgen Starring Gary Basaraba and Rebekah Kennedy Total Run Time: 00:09:43 Contact: will.ilgen@gmail.com

SYNOPSIS November 24, 1963. Two days after the death of JFK. Strapped for cash, burlesque dancer Karen Little Lynn Carlin places a fateful phone call to her boss, Jack Ruby. She finds Jack holed up in his room, paranoid and distraught, his mind racing toward an inevitable, violent conclusion. ABOUT THE FILM Ruby came to me in a dream, director Will Ilgen remembers. It s bizarre, but it s true. That dream became the central image of the film: Jack Ruby, holed up in his bedroom, staring at Lee Harvey Oswald s photograph. It was haunting, but it was just an image. Research into Ruby s activities quickly revealed the importance of Karen Little Lynn Carlin, a nineteen-year old stripper at Ruby s Carousel Club. Karen called him in this crucial moment, asking for money, Ilgen explains. I felt this was the last substantive conversation he had before the murder, so that phone call provided a dramatic way in to Jack s psyche. We embraced the minimalism of that idea the entire story is a phone call in two parts. The trick was to make that structure cinematic and immediate. Ilgen s first hires were fellow USC graduates, producer Courtney Wold and co-writer Kyle Bellar. Once the script was completed, Gary Basaraba (Mad Men) quickly came on board to play Ruby. After an extensive search for Karen, Rebekah Kennedy (Criminal Minds) was cast shortly before production began. Filming took place over two days in the Los Angeles area. Though Oswald was murdered decades ago, the director finds the episode relevant today. It s the story of an angry, confused person who doesn t recognize his country anymore, and his solution is to pick up a gun. That, to me, is eerily similar to behavior we see today. There are plenty of Jack Ruby s out there. Gary Basaraba as Jack Ruby

Rebekah Kennedy as Karen Carlin ABOUT THE CAST GARY BASARABA (Jack Ruby) left the Yale School of Drama and began his career working for many of the most highly acclaimed directors of our times. His career has spanned all genres of film and television from cutting edge art film such as "The Last Temptation of Christ" to beloved classics such as "Fried Green Tomatoes" and the popular animated series of Smurf films. His television credits include the Peabody Award winning "Boomtown" and many Emmy winning series such as "Homicide" and "Mad Men" as a recurring guest star. The list of directors that have chosen him to bring their films to life includes Martin Scorsese, Louis Malle, Adrian Lyne, Tony Scott, Alan Rudolph and Errol Morris. REBEKAH KENNEDY (Karen Carlin) was born in Texas, where she began acting on the stage. She received her B.A. in Musical Theatre from Palm Beach Atlantic University. In 2009, Rebekah turned her attention to TV/Film. She performed in many independent films and shorts. Then in 2011 Rebekah s career launched to a whole new level. She booked roles on Memphis Beat starring Jason Lee, Ghost Breakers TV series and Season of the Witch starring Nicolas Cage. Even deeper roles followed in The Underneath starring Holt Boggs, Creature starring Mehcad Brooks and Serinda Swan, I am Gabriel starring Dean Cain and one of the female leads in House Hunting starring Marc Singer.

ABOUT THE FILMMAKERS WILL ILGEN (Director, Co-Writer, Editor) Inspired by an eight millimeter film his father made as a boy, Will directed his first short film at five years old, and he never stopped. As a student, he was awarded Best Director at the Spotlight Film Festival, hosted by the College of San Mateo. Following his graduation from the USC School of Cinematic Arts in 2014, Will traveled the world, shooting short subject documentaries. He continues to write and direct dramatic, character-driven films. Director Will Ilgen (L) on set with Rebekah Kennedy and producer Courtney Wold (R). KYLE BELLAR (Co-Writer) A native of Orlando, Florida, Kyle was once a skipper on the Jungle Cruise at Disney World, but he gave up on that salty life and hasn't looked back since. A graduate of the screenwriting program at USC's School of Cinematic Arts, Kyle is a two-time nominee for the Humanitas Prize College Fellowship and his thesis script received the highest Distinction honors from faculty. He kept his Disney employee pass after he stopped working there and it somehow still works for free admission -- please don't tell anyone. COURTNEY WOLD (Producer) Courtney competed her first independent short film before transferring to the USC School of Cinematic Arts in 2012. She spent her time at the USC directing and producing short films and working as a freelancer in the industry. Her thesis made the festival circuit, playing at the

prestigious invitation-only Pawtucket Film Festival in Rhode Island. Courtney then went through an intense selection process to produce USC s very first foreign-language undergraduate thesis, which played at festivals around the world in 2013. After graduation, Courtney has continued to direct and produce a variety of projects, ranging from short films to reality shows. She won Best New Writer for her feature screenplay at the Action on International Film Festival and her most recent short film script, titled Midge, is a semi-finalist in the American Literary Festival and has been officially accepted into The Beverly Hills Film Festival.
