SEASON 2018

WELCOME We are delighted to introduce a new series of cabaret performances beginning with the extraordinary, part cabaret, part performance spectacle of Retro Futurismus, presented in partnership with the Shepparton Festival. Two other cabaret style shows follow later in the year: a reimagined murder mystery, La Petite Mort, inspired by film noir and artists like Nick Cave and Amy Winehouse plus the effervescent Ginger and Tonic with powerful voices and killer harmonies. HIT Productions returns with a revival of Hannie Rayson s modern classic, Hotel Sorrento, a story of family and cultural tensions that has become her most popular work. We welcome back Ilbijerri Theatre Company with Which Way Home a heart-warming and humorous portrayal of a father-daughter relationship revealing the often tumultuous events that bind them together. The Season also includes Kate Ceberano, queen of soul, pop and jazz, accompanied by the acclaimed Paul Grabowski on piano, the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and the upbeat B2M with Mamanta a performance of infectious pop and RnB songs from the Tiwi Islands. And there s plenty more to surprise, move and entertain you. Please take time to browse through this brochure to see the full variety in store. Ken Cameron Manager, Performing Arts and Conventions Riverlinks, Greater Shepparton City Council

RAZ Music presents LOVE SONGS Kate Ceberano and Paul Grabowsky WED 28 FEB Venue: Riverlinks Eastbank Duration: 110 minutes (includes interval) Tickets: Full $53 / Concession $49 Members: Full $49 / Concession $45 Group (6+) $45 An intimate evening with the high priestess of Australian pop, Kate Ceberano and musical partner, ARIA and Helpmann Award-winning Paul Grabowsky. This very personal journey into words and music by two of Australia s most respected musicians sees reinterpretations of some of the greatest love songs of the past 50 years. The effect is palpable as Kate and Paul present stripped back renditions of love songs, chosen because of their deeply emotional messages and more importantly, because they have influenced both artists at some point in their lives.

Photo by Jo Duck Anni & Maude Davey present RETRO FUTURISMUS in collaboration with the Shepparton Festival THU 15 MAR Venue: Riverlinks Eastbank Duration: 110 minutes (includes interval) Tickets: Full $28 / Concession $25 Members: Full $25 / Concession $22 Group (6+) $24 Cabaret style seating Blast off with a cast of aliens and astronauts, robots and roaches (the only survivors of the nuclear fallout) for a night that puts the odd in space odyssey. Drawing from the superior DNA of the likes of Circus Oz, Retro Futurismus is an old-school variety night with a sci-fi flavour, equipped with hi tech burlesque, space-age circus artistry and post-apocalyptic performance. A stellar cast the Davey twins (Anni & Maude), Gabi Barton, Anna Lumb and Teresa Blake tip their space helmets to the visionary likes of Björk, Bowie and Barbarella and uncover how the past saw the future. In an atmosphere inspired by the work of Fritz Lang, Margaret Atwood and Stanley Kubrick, dystopia has never been so delightful. AUDIENCE ADVICE: This performance contains nudity.

Dean hopes Dookie will be a good place for his mate s recovery. In the meantime the local community have entered an orchestral competition hoping to win enough money to build a memorial to commemorate their WW1 fallen in time for the 100th anniversary of ANZAC Day. Just one problem... they don t have an orchestra! Funny, emotional and powerful. Dookie The Musical explores the effects of war on soldiers, families and refugees, and pays a moving tribute to the WWI honour roll of the small town of Dookie. This is an original Shepparton Theatre Arts Group production, incorporating the Goulburn Valley Concert Orchestra in partnership with Riverlinks.
