PART 6 - Central Office Services Original Sheet 14 SECTION 7 - Digital Transport Services DIGITAL LOOP LOCAL EXCHANGE ACCESS PBX SERVICE A. Descriptive Summary Provides access to and utilization capability of the public switched network distinguished by permitting digital signals to be transmitted and received to and from a digital PBX located on the customer's premises and its serving central office. B. General All rates, charges, terms and conditions set forth herein provide for the furnishing of service where suitable facilities are available and do not create an obligation of the Company to construct facilities especially for this service. Other service offerings requested by the customer and not detrimental to this service or other services of the Company may be furnished in accordance with the regulations and at the rates and charges specified in the applicable sections of this Guidebook or other service publications of the Company. 1. Service Components Service Line Line Termination Composed of the serving central office exchange access line equipment necessary for entry and exit of the public switched network for both long-distance service and for local exchange calling appropriate to the calling option selected by the customer. Service Line Digital Transmission Loop Arrangement Composed of a digital, multichannel transmission path, its related transmission equipment, and the associated network interface device. Each arrangement provides two-way transmission for a capacity of up to 24 line terminations. Integrated Services Digital Circuit Switched Voice (CSV)/Circuit Switched Data (CSD) Transport Utilization made of the public switched network for the origination of local exchange services calling. 2. Regulations a. The following regulations are in addition to other regulations as stated in this and other service publications of the Company. For the purposes of this service, when such other regulations apply on a "per line" basis, they shall be interpreted in this instance as applying on a "per line termination" basis. b. Digital Loop Local Exchange Access PBX Service is furnished subject to the availability of facilities and only within a LATA. Loop Protection as provided in Paragraph D of the Digital Loop Service offer in this Guidebook is an optional feature also available to existing Digital PBX Service customers at the same rates, terms, and conditions as available to Digital Loop Service customers. Digital Loop Local Exchange Access PBX Service is offered with calling scopes as may be defined in Part 4, Section 1. d. Exchange access line rates and charges, as specified in Part 4, Section 2 are not applicable to this service. Other rates and charges for associated services which normally would apply on a per line basis, will apply on a per line termination basis. e. Each Digital Transmission Loop Arrangement can contain both DID and non-did line terminations. The customer must initially indicate the specific location of each line termination within the multichannel transmission path. Subsequent change in this configuration will result in the application of appropriate charges expressed in paragraph C. f. Service provided under this Guidebook contemplates that the customer's requested service location is within the base rate area of the normal serving central office. Requests for Digital Transmission Loop Arrangements extending beyond the normal serving central office base rate area, when feasible, may be furnished as a Special Assembly of Equipment with charges based on costs. Intrastate, IntraLATA Foreign Serving Office/Foreign Exchange Line Terminations, if requested by the customer and agreed to by the company, may be furnished pursuant to Part 4, Section 3 on a per channel basis. g. Customer relocations resulting in a change in central office designation will be considered a disconnection and connection of new service. h. Except as otherwise noted, the minimum service period is 30 days. i. Except for the Local Exchange Usage portion of this service, the temporary suspension of service provisions are not applicable. j. No performance guarantee is made or implied beyond those associated with the normal provisioning of Local Exchange Service. k. These rate elements are for Local Exchange usage. Each rate element shall constitute a local exchange access arrangement and shall be counted in combination with those of Part 4, Section 2. These CSV/CSD local service elements are offered only in connection with services provided under this Guidebook, and not offered on a stand-alone basis.
