MODEL ODN2P OPTICAL DISTRIBUTION NODE WITH TWO AMPLIFIED RF PORTS LIGHT LINK SERIES 2 Description Features The Light LinkB B Series 2 Optical distribution node with two amplified RF ports (ODN2P) has been designed to deliver interactive CATV and high capacity DOCSIS services. The ODN2P is IP67 rated and suitable for outdoor and indoor applications. The ODN2P deep fibre node solution suits the last-mile in broadband access networks. The small and rugged design makes this unit an ideal answer for fibre-to-the-apartment and fibre-to-the-curb applications. The ODN2P can also be equipped with return path transmitter modules for various optical wavelengths, making CWDM single fibre operation a viable solution. The ODN2P return transmitter has a 4.5 MHz pilot generator and an FSK modulator for node status monitoring. When connected to an RPQRM headend port, all node data is available to the NMS3 network management system. Suits CENELEC and NTSC standards up to 110 analog TV channels. Includes support for DOCSIS and DVB digital transmission standards. Two individually GaAsFET amplified RF outputs, for 1 GHz transmission systems. Field upgradeable diplexers and filters. Forward path twin receiver module capability with automatic AB protection switching. Integrated NMS3 network management capability. The AB switching relay is part of the motherboard and does not need to be ordered separately. Optical input detection is done in the optical receiver modules themselves and jumpers on the motherboard determine the AB switching operation mode. The forward path protection switching is usually combined with one return path laser transmitter module and an optical splitter in the splicing tray, permitting a simultaneous feed of both the A and the B upstream fibre. The status of the forward path optical detectors is reported in the NMS3 status monitoring system via the 4.5 MHz return path pilot. If any of the optical inputs drop below the threshold, an alarm is generated and the AB switch is activated to connect with the secure fibre link. The ODN2P has three plug-in module slots which can be equipped for either two forward path receivers with one return transmitter, or for one forward path receiver with two return transmitters providing return path segmentation is active. (3) Measured with PBN LTM13 laser transmitter module, 10 km single mode optical fibre, -1 dbm input, 4% OM, 52 dbmv RF output at 1000 MHz and 14 slope from 85 to 1000 MHz. In 1550 nm systems the RF output levels are 1 db more and the CNR performance is 1 db better. CNR performance for NTSC television channels with 4 MHz RNB is another 1 db better.
