s 1 3 s 5 Nature Conservation (Protected Plants Harvest Period) Notice 2003 NATURE CONSERVATION (PROTECTED PLANTS HARVEST PERIOD) NOTICE 2003 [as amended by all amendments that commenced on or before 1 March 2004] 1 Short title This notice may be cited as the Nature Conservation (Protected Plants Harvest Period) Notice 2003. 2 Commencement This notice commences on 1 April 2003. 3 Definitions In this notice bioprospecting activity see the Nature Conservation (Protected Plants) Conservation Plan 2000, schedule 3. protected plant see the Nature Conservation (Protected Plants) Conservation Plan 2000, schedule 3. salvage see the Nature Conservation (Protected Plants) Conservation Plan 2000, schedule 3. stock plant see the Nature Conservation Regulation 1994, schedule 10. 4 Harvest period for protected plants A harvest period for all protected plants starts on 1 April 2003 and ends on 31 March 2004. 5 Conditions on taking particular whole protected plants (1) The maximum number of whole protected plants of the following genera that may be taken under a commercial wildlife harvesting licence is

s 6 4 s 6 Nature Conservation (Protected Plants Harvest Period) Notice 2003 (a) for plants of the genus Xanthorrhoea 36 000; (b) for plants of the genus Cycas 90; (c) for plants of the genus Lepidozamia 150; (d) for plants of the genus Macrozamia 3 400. (2) For subsection (1), the number of plants taken under a commercial wildlife harvesting licence does not include a plant that is taken (a) as a stock plant; or (b) under salvage; or (c) for a bioprospecting activity. 6 Expiry This notice expires on 1 April 2004.
