DEAR CUSTOMER Thank you for purchasing this product. For optimum performance and safety, please read these instructions carefully before connecting, operating or adjusting this product. Please keep this manual for future reference. This product is 100% inspected and tested in the United States to verify HDMI performance parameters. WARNING 1. Do not expose this unit to water, moisture, or excessive humidity. 2. Do not install or place this unit in a built-in cabinet, or other confined space without adequate ventilation. 3. To prevent risk of electrical shock or fire hazard, due to overheating, do not obstruct unit s ventilation openings. 4. Do not install near any source of heat, including other units that may produce heat. 5. Do not place unit near flames. 6. Only clean unit with a dry cloth. 7. Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched, particularly at the plugs. 9. Use unit only with accessories specified by the manufacturer. 10. Refer all servicing to qualified personnel. CAUTION HDMI is a very complex technology requiring continuous authentication of the signal and the same video resolution and audio settings on all electronic equipment in the system. When there are multiple sources and displays, the video resolution and audio setting on all connected units must be adjusted to correspond with that of the display having the lowest video and audio capability. 2 www.vanco1.com

FEATURES The Vanco HDWIRKIT/RX extends HDMI signals wirelessly from a source to a display up to 131ft/40m using wireless technology. There are no cables that are required between the transmitter and receiver which makes for a clean and easy installation, especially where cabling is difficult or impossible to run. Using a 5GHz operation frequency, the HDWIRKIT Transmitter and Receiver do not require line of site transmission, the wireless signal will travel through most obstacles with no issues. Out of the box, the HDWIRKIT works as a point to point configuration, however also supports having multiple sets on the same site (up to 10) and one to multiple (1 TX to up to 4 RX) displays using HDWIR-RX receivers (sold separately). A great solution for splitting a single source signal wirelessly. Also features dual band IR call back to control the source from any display location connected. With the ability of sending HDMI signals wirelessly, whether point to point or splitting to multiple displays, the HDWIRKIT and optional HDWIR-RX are easy solutions where running cable is an issue. HDMI WIRELESS EXTENDER/RECEIVER Part # HDWIRKIT (transmitter and receiver) Part # HDWIR-RX (receiver only) Extends HDMI signals wirelessly up to 131ft/40m Transmits up to 1080p HD video and audio Kit includes both Transmitter and Receiver for point to point application Able to split wireless HDMI signals to up to 4 displays (additional HDWIR-RX receivers sold separately) Multiple kits able to be installed in one application without interference Perfect solution where cabling cannot be run such as a mantle or outdoor application IR pass-through to control source from display location wirelessly Wireless 5 GHz frequency No line of sight installation required, wireless signal will pass through most obstacles Easy manual front panel or IR setup for multiple units Dimensions: 5.25 W x 0.75 H x 3 D 800-626-6445 3

CONNECT AND OPERATE 1. Connect HDMI cable from a source into the HDMI IN port of the TRANSMITTER 2. OPTIONAL: Connect the provided IR BLASTER into the IR OUT port of the TRANSMITTER 3. OPTIONAL: Connect HDMI Cable to the HDMI OUT port to loop-out to a local display such as a control room display 4. Connect an HDMI cable from the HDMI OUT port of the RECEIVER to a display or sink device 5. OPTIONAL: Connect the provided IR RECEIVER into the IR IN port of the RECEIVER 6. Connect both power supplies to the TRANSMITTER and RECEIVER using the provided power supplies, TRANSMITTER first, followed by RECEIVER 7. Using the manual toggle buttons on the units or the provided IR remote control, select any available channel; the TRANSMITTER and RECEIVER MUST be on the same channel (if using multiple kits, set each kit to different channels to avoid signal interference) NOTE: If there is no signal on startup, press the RESET button on the TX and/or RX. NOTE: Transmission distance may differ based on certain environmental factors such as other wireless signals that can interfere with transmission. Solid core walls, brick, or glass can significantly shorten the range at higher resolutions. 800-626-6445 7

IR PASS-THROUGH The IR system allows you to control the source that is connected to the extender unit, from the display. There are two important things to note when setting up the IR system: 1. The IR Receiver (IR RX) is always what you point your remote at to send an IR signal. This pigtail is placed at the display for controlling the source. 2. The IR Blaster (IR TX) is what sends the IR signal to what you are intending to control. This pigtail is placed at the source; either pointed at the source, or placed on the front panel of the source (see below for placement tips). IR BLASTER (TX) IR BLASTER (TX) To control the source: plug IR Blaster into IR OUT port of TRANSMITTER; place blaster in front of the IR eye of the source. Note: Placement of the IR Blaster is important and can result in the IR system not working if improperly placed. First, locate the IR eye or window on the source If placing the IR blaster right on the front panel of the source, do not stick right on top of the IR eye or IR window. The IR signal cannot travel through the double-sided tape on the Blaster. Instead place the blaster on either side, or on the top or bottom of the IR eye or window, with the tip of the blaster facing the IR eye or window. See below for illustration of where IR signal shoots from on IR Blaster: 8 www.vanco1.com

IR RECEIVER (RX) IR RECEIVER (RX) To control the source: Plug IR Receiver into IR IN port of RECEIVER; place receiver at or near display. Note: Due to possible differences in 3rd party IR cables, please use the IR cables that came with the product. 800-626-6445 9

TROUBLE-SHOOTING 1. If the display has waiting for connection on the bottom right hand corner: Check to see if the power supply of the transmitter and receiver are well connected and that the power indicator lights are ON 2. If the display states, Please check the TX input signal... First check to see if there input is properly connected and powered on. Next try to connect the signal source directly to the display device to see if there is a signal output from the source device or change the signal source. 3. If the display is not stable: Try moving the position of the transmitter and receiver and make sure the range of the device has not been exceeded. Hit the RESET button on the RX first, followed by the TX. Please allow time to sink before trying the TX RESET button Remove power and HDMI form both sides, reconnect the HDMI cables FIRST, then power after Look to remove other wireless signal that may be disrupting the transmission SAFETY AND NOTICE The HDWIRKIT/HDWIR-RX has been tested for conformance to safety regulations and requirements, and has been certified for international use. However, like all electronic equipment, the HDWIRKIT/HDWIR-RX should be used with care. Please read and follow the safety instructions to protect yourself from possible injury and to minimize the risk of damage to the unit. Follow all instructions and warnings marked on this unit. Do not attempt to service this unit yourself, except where explained in this manual. Provide proper ventilation and air circulation and do not use near water. Keep objects that might damage the device and assure that the placement of this unit is on a stable surface. Use only the power adapter and power cords and connection cables designed for this unit. Do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners to clean this unit. Always unplug the power to the device before cleaning. 10 www.vanco1.com
