AGRO. The Cable Glands.
Systems and solutions for industrial applications and electric installations 2 For transportation, a secure grip on the feed line is vital. The Progress cable glands used in railway technology do not slacken, despite high vibrating loads. This results in perfect power and signal transmission throughout the train. For railwail applications according to EN 45545, you can now get certified cable glands. Nickel-plated brass or synthetic Syntec cable glands represent the optimal solution for a wide range of daily tasks. The patented, unique lamellar technology clamps the cable smoothly and guarantees practical cable entry with outstanding strain relief. Dust and exhaust emissions cause high levels of chemical pollution in tunnels. This calls for the use of stainless and acid-resistant stainless steel A4 cable glands with FPM sealing insert. Cable diameters from 2.0 mm to 52.0 mm are used here on a daily basis. For shipbuilding industry, cable glands have to meet specific requirements. DNV certification grants the fulfillment of such requirements. All metric AGRO cable glands are DNV certified. Additionally all AGRO Ex cable glands are approved, irrespective of their entry thread. www.agro.ch
Electronically-controlled substations operate in a smooth way as long as parasitic currents do not affect their function. The concentric screened tap connection of Progress EMC cable glands discharges interference currents to earth and thus grants lowest transfer impedance. In food industries, anti-bacterial substances guarantee a high level of safety. These chemical agents, however, also place a considerable burden on production facilities. AGRO cable glands made of stainless steel A2 reliably meet these daily challenges. Progress ultraflat cable glands are EHEDG certified. Refineries and production facilities in the chemical industry with potentially explosive areas make specific demands on electrical installations. AGRO offers special cable glands and accessories for flameproof enclosure Ex d IIC, increased safety Ex e II and intrinsic safety Ex i II protection types that have been standardised throughout Europe. For the implementation of wind turbine generators, the Progress range offers cable protecting strain relief with high distortion protection. This applies to both round and flat cables. 3
AGRO AGRO s founder, Alfred Grossauer, invented the modern IP 68 cable gland in the 1950s. Since then, the company has further developed and perfected its knowhow and capabilities relating to the product. A team of approximately one hundred dedicated employees is there to ensure that you will receive a state-of-the-art product that conforms with all applicable standards. Every cable gland comes with a comprehensive package of services. Some of these such as a professional support at the installation location are immediately obvious, while others unfold in the background and are only represented by the fact that the appropriate product is delivered at the required time. In our own testing laboratory, we ensure that the products you receive from us are made of high quality. 4 www.agro.ch
Two clamping technologies for all requirements Progress in brass, steel or synthetic material The outstanding compression technology of AGRO Progress cable glands guarantees an effective seal and excellent cable-protecting strain relief, also for dynamic loads. Sealing inserts for special applications such as railway applications according to EN 45545, for drinking water, food industry or cleanroom applications are available as standard. 1 Short, long or special entry threads designed as metric, Pg-, Gaspipe or NPT 2 High distortion protection thanks to retaining grooves in the lower part 3 Two-piece sealing inserts for larger clamping range 4 Inner contours matched to the sealing insert guarantee its tightness in compliance with protection class IP 68 up to 10 bar and IP 69K Syntec in brass or synthetic material Syntec cable glands with their innovative lamellar technology are particulary suited for a flexible everyday use. The pre-fixation of the synthetic compression nut allows for overhead installation. 1 Short or long entry threads designed as metric, Pg- or NPT 2 The elastic sealing rings with good chemical resistance provide a reliable seal, are particularly durable and offer guaranteed protection to protection class IP 68 3 Lamellar geometry with movable jointed lamellas support the insertion of varying diameters and ensure outstanding strain relief and distortion protection 4 The large spanner flats of the synthetic compression nuts ensure reliable and secure hold when turning 5
Progress EMC - cable glands for electromagnetically compatible installations The Progress EMC easyconnect cable gland ensures full installation control and compensates for tolerances in the shield thickness for a reliable shield grip. The contact spring system facilitates a good and reliable shield contact, for both partially stripped shield cables and fully exposed cable shields as well as an easy and quick assembly. Progress EMC Rapid is the cable gland with two contact options, for very fast and simple shield contact by means of an integrated contact disc. It facilitates good contact for both partially stripped shield cables and fully exposed cable shields, which may also be extended and it is easily and quickly assembled. Progress EMC cable glands in nickle-plated brass, with the tried-and-trusted contact sleeve, make possible 360 sleeve contact with the braided shield that ends in the cable gland. The geometry of the contact sleeve prevents shearing of the braided shield. Progress EMC Series 85 cable glands in brass ensure, by means of the collet, a particularly low-impedance connection between the braided shield and the metal casing while facilitating reliable cable routing. The Progress EMC Series 85 cable glands are paticularly suitable for high leakage currents. 6 www.agro.ch
Progress cable glands certified for potentially explosive atmospheres Cable glands of ignition protection type Ex d IIC must be able to withstand the pressure of the explosion of an explosive mix inside the casing, and prevent the transmission of the explosion to any explosion-risk atmosphere outside the casing. Series 18 cable glands feature supplemental strain relief to protect the cable, thanks to suitable clamping and an appropriate trumpet-shaped geometry. Progress Ex Compact cable glands satisfy the requirements of protection types Ex d IIC and Ex e II. Their particular advantages include their compact design, their large clamping range and the option of a version for feeding through several cables. For Ex e II and Ex i II applications, the Progress range of cable glands for the feeding through of one or more cables includes both nickel-plated brass and synthetic versions. For pressure balance in explosion-risk areas, AGRO offers a nickel-plated pressure balance element with a membrane, which is certified for protection type Ex e II. 7
