The annual Cookie Cart Days will be held Wednesday and Thursday, August 3 and 4 from 10AM till 2PM in the IDS Center Crystal Court. This year s sale will feature nine different varieties of deliciously fresh-baked cookies. The Cookie Cart is a non-profit youth employment program that takes the form of a retail and commercial bakery. The goal of program graduates is to gain the job and life skills necessary to transition to traditional employment and beyond. Now that s a cause worth munching over. The Caring Tree Back To School Supply Drive August 2 from 11AM-2PM in the Crystal Court. The Caring Tree promotes educational success for Minnesota s K-12 students in need by ensuring that they have the appropriate school supplies. Every $20 financial contribution will be maximized to purchase a backpack full of 30 school supplies for a child to start school successfully. Take a break and come down in front of the IDS Center on Tuesday, August 16 at noon as dancers strut their stuff in anticipation of the September opening of The Cowles Center for Dance and the Performing Arts! The Cowles Center, on Hennepin between 5 th and 6 th Streets, is the Twin Cities new home for dance, with a full season of 22 different companies performing everything from ballet to modern to tap to hip hop. You might want to bring your camera for this one! Making Strides, the IDS Center Fall Fitness Program! Teams of five will earn points by walking, taking fitness classes with Fit To Live and attending brown bag fitness education classes provided by Globe University. The program will kick off during the Health and Wellness Fair in the Crystal Court on August 30. Validation tickets can be purchased in bulk and by denominations according to the hourly parking rate bands in the IDS Garage. The process to order validation tickets is easy.
