Workshop o Story tellig Story tellig is the social ad cultural activity, ofte with improvisatio, theatres or embellishmet. Stories or arratives have bee shared i every culture as a meas of etertaimet, educatio, cultural preservatio ad istillig moral values. O 26th August 2017, there was a workshop o story tellig sessio at the Phoeix Area, Hyderabad, coducted by famous story teller Ms. Deepa Kira. Deepa Kira started the story tellig workshop by the itroductio of her. She is the fouder of the Story Arts Idia. She is a professioal story teller, writer ad educatioalist, egaged with employig story arts as a pedagogical itervetio, deeply impactig both the learer ad the teacher. She has held her teacher traiig workshops ad musical story tellig performaces across Idia ad various other coutries. She started with a short story o Ramayaa that was arrated i a differet way, yet makig it very iterestig. She brought i varied voice modulatios to the characters i the story ad the musical istrumets used evoked ethusiasm. It was so lively that the participats imagied themselves as part of the characters i the story. After the Story tellig sessio, we stepped out i the laws for a ice breaker, a educative cocept was demostrated, such as the three states of matter (Solid, liquid ad gas) i which all the participats got a opportuity to iteract with oe aother. Oce the icebreaker was fiished, the etire teams of participats were divided ito groups, ad each group was asked to tell a story which they had remembered right from their childhood ad i what circumstaces the story was told. Ms. Deepa Kira eded the workshop with a musical story, describig about a car ad its parts i a musical way. The workshop was filled with lot of ivolvemet ad wigs of words, sprikled with music, coupled with a impressive whole body laguage o how a story is to be arrated. This is oly a warm up sessio of the workshop. The actual programme will be plaed for the participats later i the year. We look forward to participate i the learig of the art of story tellig. - Lavaya Ramachadra Mother Teacher of L.K.G Educatio as a Experiece Childre are like the beautiful flowers i your garde, fresh off the soil. They become radiat ad grow aturally because of the ourishmet that they get i all the aspects of life that matter. Beautiful flowers are the ed result of a plat that receives adequate sulight, water, chlorophyll, appropriate temperature, appropriate seasoal coditios ad, of course, a gardeer who favours it with love ad positive eergy. If ay oe of these aspects is missig, the growth ad beauty of the flower dimiishes by just that much. Ad so it is with childre. We as adults are always so tempted to force our demads ad expectatios o our youg oes, costatly woderig why they do t sped more time o buildig this skill or that. My child must read well, we say. My child must be a topper i his class ad he must write with a superb hadwritig. Or maybe it sometimes gets as crazy as a paret i Mumbai who oce asked a pricipal: Why ca t my child speak i Eglish yet? (his child was a ursery studet!!). Take a look at somethig differet that we have for your child - our year-log program that we call Life-skills. This meas that there are special days throughout the year wherei studets actually develop specific skills, kowledge ad mid-sets which will help them uderstad their eviromet better, lear real-life facts ad practices, ad also gai the habit of beig people-friedly ad harmoious. At Uicet we believe that childre become the best academically whe they bled i aturally ad get ivolved i every other aspect of life as well. They must lear to be good frieds, must appreciate ad be sesitive to ature (water, plats, aimals etc) ad must kow the value of workig together with other humas; ad whe all of these thigs come ito place, the academic learig aturally follows it. Let s take a example water day! Through this day we taught childre the properties of water, how it dissolves certai substaces, how some thigs float i it, what its may uses are, where it comes from ad how importat it is for us to live. What does mea at the ed of the day? If we are to go with the true meaig of educatio, it is t just a matter of workig with words ad umbers but lookig beyod ad embracig the otio that childre grow ito beautiful humas whe they actually experiece life i all its areas. Uicet studets ejoy themselves so much more because they make frieds through all this. They look forward to school all the more ad what ca be better ews tha that? - Asha Nambiar F

My first Presetatio experiece at school is worth rememberig!!! This is the first time that we have Presetatios as a compoet of our Mid Term Assessmets. We were give the topics 20 days i advace. I was really excited to do it. Whe I started preparig for the presetatio I felt like I was a teacher. I bega to practice it i frot of the mirror. It was totally a differet experiece. I could feel that my voice started chockig iitially but later I felt more cofidet as I cotiued to practice well for a couple of times. I practiced my body laguage, o verbal cues, pauses ad also modified with feedback give by my parets. Fially whe I was about to give my presetatio I felt a little shy ad scared. But whe I oticed that my frieds were eagerly waitig to liste to my presetatio, I felt more cofidet ad gave my best. To my surprise all my teachers ad classmates appreciated me. The ext day I oticed that some of my frieds started presetig like me ad I felt very happy. I love to give more presetatios like this. - By Saahilya Moharaj IV B The Day I Ejoy Most I School The day I ejoyed the most i school was Idepedece Day which was celebrated last moth o 15th August. Our school did t have classes o that day but we all atteded the flag hoistig ceremoy. First, we all assembled together for flag hoistig which was doe by the pricipal. We sag the atioal athem. We said a prayer ad the I was able to make a speech about Idepedece Day i frot of the whole school. All my frieds liked it. The studets the did a cultural programme. I had a great day! - Kamakshi II-B Yellow House Author s Visit Mrs Chatura Rao from Scholastic: We always read may books writte by authors ukow. Most of them we recogise through their pictures i the book. 27th July was a special day for me as this was my first opportuity to meet a author, persoally. Whose books are i our school Library ad I have read oly a couple of them. We had a short iteractio with her ad came to kow some amazig secrets of a author i.e. the jourey of a ew book bor from her imagiatio to publicatio. I was surprised to kow it was ideed a log jourey comprisig of ot just moths but years. That s whe I realised that oe eeds to first observe, idetify, imagie, draft ad edit to reach perfectio o ay give topic. Oe of my frieds asked a questio o how to write a short story. Ma am gave us some tips like Firstly idetify the character, Imagie ad describe it i detail with heart, Fill emotios, love, affectio i your story, give live examples, if ay, ca start with a iterestig scee, Balace thigs like visual descriptio, data, facts ad so o, be covicig. This short iteractio with Mrs. Chatura Rao was a lifelog learig for me. Alok of class IX stood 4th i shot put ad Sujaa of Class VIII stood 3rd i heats(100 meters)durig the selectios for Hyderabad District Athletics Selectios held at Gachibowli Stadium this year. My dearest Mother! Today, I looked ito the mirror, curious as to what I would see. I expected to see my reflectio starig back at me but as I looked, I saw somethig more i the face that was there. I saw the reflectio of my mother, a woma filled with love & care. Each year is aother year closer to lookig like my mother. I see her i my reflectio, i oe way or aother. May I ot oly look like her. But, reflect her heart as well. For, its full of love ad kidess, God s goodess i a utshell. Aother year closer to lookig like MOM, that oly makes me glad. For, I love my beautiful mother. She is the best reflectio I have ever had. - By Shloka Reddy IV B I Love My coutry! I am extremely proud to be a Idia because I was bor here. Idia is a vibrat place where we fid iumerable differeces co-existig. This is a place where we still respect our elders ad teachers, treat our guests as God. I eed o permissio to meet my frieds or see my eighbour ext door. We celebrate all the festivals together ad live i harmoy. It s a lad bor with richess of holy rivers, fertile lad, high moutai rages, logest coastlie ad lovely people. Aciet Civilizatios flourished here ad it is lad for discoveries, ivetios ad master mids. I summers may people do t have water eve to take bath or water the plats. So this year too our school iitiated may programs to brig awareess i the commuity o SAVE WATER. Ad our task was to brig awareess amog the people i our coloy to build Raiwater Harvestig pits. I really liked this idea ad did the survey. This survey gave me a opportuity to lear more about RWH as I had to explai, aswer queries if ay ad eve covice them which was a challegig task for me. Through this survey I leart that some people had already costructed a pit ad some promised to do it. Ad I was happy about it as I could at least make some people thik about it. I would also like to share a surprisig thig that happeed i our house. Two years age our bore well was completely dry ad i last summer we spet a lot of moey buyig water. So we decided to build a RWH pit ear our bore well. After oe year i.e. this summer we did ot buy a sigle drop of water. This was because our bore well is recharged ad we are gettig water regularly for half a hour every day. It s a miracle. Ad I wat this miracle to happe i all the houses. - M Akhilesh Reddy Maagemet, Staff ad Studets of Uicet Cogratulate our Telugu Teacher for beig oe amog the Thousad Poets of Telagaa to be hoored at the Kavi Sammelaam held at Karimagar ad also for beig the Sahasra Kavi Mitra Award Wier.

A word of appreciatio from the teacher : May a times I am lifted up by the amazig ad ispirig tasks doe by the little kids i the classroom. I would like to share a aecdote which I recorded recetly i the last moth. Oe of the girls amed Aushka Jai of Grade III A had fractured her right had just before her Mid Term Exams. The ext day as their teacher was abset I had to take the attedace. As soo as I etered the class I saw this little girl with a badage o her right had ad also observed that Sriidi had chaged her place ad was sittig ext to Aushka. Whe I was about to ask what had happeed, Sriidhi stood up immediately ad said, Ma am, Aushka has fractured her right had ad she will ot be able to write. So I have chaged my place ad I am goig to help her write all the otes from today owards. I had o words, but just appreciated her for her empathy. Sriidhi always looked happy ad proud to take up this task. It is ideed a difficult task for a little girl to write hers as well as her frieds otes withi the give time i all the subjects but she did it with ease, ad without complaiig. Aushka was also a courageous girl ad she used to keep all her books ready for Sriidhi to write. All the other studets i the class too tried their best to help Aushka ad I feel It is a true example of compassio. - Mrs. Karua Shree Durig the PARVA CBSE Iter School Art & Cultural Fest 2017 at Mout Litera Zee High School, Shloka Ale of II-B secured the First prize, Auksha Rao of IIIA bagged the secod prize ad the group evet Dramatics-Telugu by Grade 3&4 kids secured the Third prize TELANGANA STATE 3rd JUNIOR THROW BALL CHAMPION SHIP BOYS & GIRLS 2017-18 Telagaa state 3rd juior throw ball champio ship boys & girls 2017-18 was orgaised by Te l a g a a T h r o w b a l l Associatio, It s for the secod time our Uicet School participats were selected to represet The Hyderabad District Team, Medchal District. The Boys Team wo the Fials scorig well over their oppoet. Accordig to traditio, oce their lived a sait amed Vishucitta also called Periyalvar i Srivilliputtur, is said to have foud a ifat girl amed Adal while he was hoeig his sacred basil (Tulsi). Whe her father discovered her doig this, he was upset ad put aside the flowers ad did his puja without the garlad. That day the idol of Vishu was burig i fumes ad seeig this Adal put the garlad back o the idol. From the o she was called as Amuktamalyada. Cosidered as a masterpiece, Amuktamalyada describes the story of weddig of the Hidu Lord Vishu ad Adal (or Goda Devithe) the Tamil Alvar poet ad daughter of Periyalvar, at Sriragam. - Amuktamalyada V B Some best momets with my parets! It is difficult to select oe best as I have may best momets that I would like to cherish all my life through. I feel fortuate that my parets gave me a perfect balace of freedom ad restrictios. THE IMPACT OF MUSIC ON TEENS Music plays a importat role i the social lives of childre ad adolescets. I some places, listeig to popular music is cosidered to be a part of childre growig up ito teeagers ad the adults. Music is a distractio from problems for tees with depressio. Music also provides etertaimet for all people, icludig teeagers, which serves as a way to relieve boredom ad tesio. Ca music harm or affect teeagers lives i a bad way? Yes. Sometimes, music cotais lyrics that glorify or promote violece. Most of the time, childre are baed from listeig to this type of music, however, i some cases, listeig to violet music ca be a outlet that allows tees to release their ager or frustratio without gettig ito trouble. This helps tees to reduce the stress o their mids, however, tees who become more agitated or try to carry out violet acts after listeig to this type of music should avoid it. Does music affect the brai? If so, how? Does it effect i a good or bad way? Music effects the brai i both good ad bad ways. Music ca also help us to exercise. Here are some of the good qualities people receive after listeig to particular types of music. F Rap fas have high self-esteem ad are outgoig. F Opera fas have high self-esteem, are creative ad getle. F Coutry ad wester fas are hardworkig ad outgoig. F Reggae fas have high self-esteem, are creative, outgoig, getle ad at ease. F Dace fas are creative ad outgoig. F Idie fas are creative. F Bollywood fas are creative ad outgoig. F Rock/heavy metal fas are creative, getle, ad at ease. F Chart pop fas have high self-esteem, are hardworkig, outgoig ad getle. F Soul fas have high self-esteem, are creative, outgoig, getle, ad at ease. Music ca also effect tees i a wrog way as listeig to them at a high volume ca damage our hearig. Some people ca eve become deaf if they liste at a very high volume. If we liste to music at a high volume while workig, which most people do, it ca also divert our attetio. Studies show that whe drivers, mostly tees, are listeig to music of their choice, they are ot aware of their surroudigs ad drive very rash or slow accordig to the music. O the other had, the drivers which drive i a silet car are more careful ad watchful about their surroudigs. O the whole, music actually helps teeagers to express their feeligs. They feel comfortable while listeig to music, ad they feel that they are ejoyig themselves. Although there are some side effects, ad tees might get effected due to violet sogs, the pros are heavier tha the cos. For this reaso, we ca liste to music, but we should watch out ad let others be aware of both the positive ad egative sides of music. - Praathi Ayyadevara VIII Uicet School, Kompally EDUCATIONAL DAY TRIP TO ICRISAT AND AKSHAYA PATRA..
