Commander's Corner Hello Legion family, Howdy y'all, Our nominations of Post Officers is over. There will be only a couple of changes from last year. All positions are the same except for E-board adding Jake Nekich and Ed Tucker and Sgt.-At-Arms, Bill Hauser. Looking for another great year. I knew better than to brag last month about "Big Bertha" our fridge in the kitchen. You guessed it, she died and we bought a new replacement. We pretty much have a new Post now. Next will be a tankless water heater on the back porch which will lower our bill and give us much needed room. We are losing a valuable member this week. Emory Brady is moving back to Ohio to be with family. We did give him a bon voyage party complete with pizza and a roast. Thanx to Vinnie and George Nelson for their kind monetary donations for the event. We will also be saying "Good bye" to our new friends from Canada,Linda and Dennis. They have helped support our Post all winter long. These folks will be sorely missed. Speaking of Vinnie, he put out the spread for his own birthday party. We'll have food for days now. Also, Thanx to Bill Hauser for donating cable and batteries for our new power amp. I have been remiss in forgetting to mention Jake Nekich in the Kudos Column. Jake, a new transfer, has helped with everything our Post has done, events, holidays, whatever."thanx JAKE". Saturday, April 7th, from 1:00 on, we will be hosting the vets from Calusa Harbor. Bobby hubcat will be playing music for us. We are also having a ham dinner with all the fixins that day. It will qualify as our Easter Dinner. Since it's Easter, the meal will be free if eaten at the Post. Carry outs will be $2.00. Please show up for these events. Don't forget "Support Your Government Day" on April 16th. Remember, a penny saved is a penny untaxed. The SAL will be selling hot dogs on April 1 for the race at Martinsville for only $1.00. That's all folks. Hope you all have a happy Easter. THOUGHT OF THE MONTH: "A closed mouth will gather no foot." Yours in service, Dave Doty

Editors Notes _ Steve Urban Web Address www.alp351.com Lan Mac Pest Control Serving SW Florida since 1971. Pest Control, Termite Control, Lawn & Ornamental Care (239-337-1519) Little Johnnie's neighbour had a baby. Unfortunately, the baby was born without ears. When mother and new baby came home from the hospital, Johnnie's family was invited over to see the baby. Before they left their house, Little Johnnie's dad had a talk with him and explained that the baby had no ears. His dad also told him that if he so much mentioned anything about the baby's missing ears or even said the word ears, he would get the smacking of his life when they came back home. Little Johnnie told his dad he understood completely. When Johnnie looked in the crib he said, 'What a beautiful baby.' The mother said, 'Why, thank you, Little Johnnie..' Johnnie said, 'He has beautiful little feet and beautiful little hands, a cute little nose and really beautiful eyes. Can he see?' 'Yes', the mother replied, 'we are so thankful; the Doctor said he will have 20/20 vision.' 'That's great', said Little Johnnie,'cuz he'd be screwed if he needed glasses'.
