ACTIVITY 3: THE STORY OF ROBIN HOOD Narrator Robin Hood Little John Prince John Sir Hiss (Prince John's servant) Sheriff of Nottingham Maid Marian Townpeople 1 Townpeople 2 Townpeople 3 Guard 1 Guard 2 Guard 3 Friar Tuck King Richard Narrator: Robin Hood and Little John lived in Sherwood forest, near the town of Nottingham. The two friends were considered heroes by most people. They robbed from the rich to give to the poor. Evil Prince John made poor people pay very high taxes. Robin Hood and Little John only took the money back and gave it to its owners. The taxes were collected by the Sheriff of Nottingham. It hadn't always been that way. Prince John's brother, King Richard had been a kind and noble king. Unfortunately, King Richard was away from the kingdom. Robin Hood and Little John, hidden in the forest Little John: Robin, listen!it is a trumpet! Prince John's carriage must be approaching. Robin Hood: Yes! You are right! That sounds like another collection day for the poor. Hurry up! Let's put on our fortune-teller dresses! Little John: Ha, ha, ha, I love that part! They both get dressed as fortune-tellers. As the carriage is approaching them... Robin Hood: Ooo-da-lolly, ooo-da-lolly He calls in a disguised voice Little John: Fortunes forecast!! Prince John: Stop the carriage!i would like to have my fortune told...i want this pair to tell me that I am going to be even richer..ha ha ha Sir Hiss: Majesty, I would not do that, fortune-tellers might be bandits. Prince John: Rubbish! You! Come here and tell me all about my future. Talking to Robin and Little John Robin Hood: Of course Majesty Prince John encourages them to kiss his royal hand and Little John steals the gems from his rings. While Robin tells the fortune to the Prince, Little John steals all the gold from the Prince's carriage. 3

Robin Hood: Majesty, I can see a lot of money and land. You will be the most powerful person in the whole kingdom. Prince John: I like what you are saying. Keep talking. Robin Hood: Majesty, I can't tell you any more... I start feeling a bit sick... Little John: I am sure that this is because you told so many good news... smiling...ok!so we have to go now. Bye! Robin Hood: Bye! When the two fortune-tellers leave, Prince John realizes what has happened Prince John: Oh! Where is all my gold? My gems!! Sir Hiss: Majesty, I told you that that was not a good idea... Prince John: Silence!! I am sure that Robin Hood did that...moomy!! boy sucking his thumb He says that like a little Hurry up!take me to see the Sheriff of Nottingham, I am sure he will have a brilliant idea... Mommy!! Like a little boy again Later, in the Sheriff's house, they talk about what happened Sheriff: I knew he would do it again! We must get rid of him! Prince John: I can't stand it any more!! Sheriff: I know what we are going to do. Listen: Robin Hood is an excellent archer, we only have to organize an archery contest, and say that the winner will get a kiss from Maid Marian. I am sure that Robin Hood would never miss something like that. We will capture him at that event! Prince John: Oh! You are the best! Sheriff: I know, I know... Both laugh loudly Narrator: On the day of the contest, Robin attended dressed like a bird, hidden behind an enormous beak. Only Maid Marian was able to recognize him. During the contest, Robin Hood proved to be an excellent archer, even better than the Sheriff of Nottingham! Maid Marian: I am sure that this mysterious archer is Robin Hood smiling Oh! Now it is the final round! The Sheriff against Robin Hood! I know that my sweetheart will win! Sheriff: I have to do something, that man is going to win the contest! Everybody has to think that I am the best archer of the kingdom! When Robin Hood is going to make his final shot, the Sheriff bumps him Robin Hood: Oh no! Where is my arrow! Sheriff: ha, ha, ha! Robin Hood: I have to do something very quickly! Robin quickly fires another arrow 4

Maid Marian: standing He is the winner!!!!!!!! Prince John: Only Robin Hood can make such an incredible shot. Hurry up! Seize him! The guards capture Robin Hood Little John: Hold on Robin! I am coming! Everyone! We have to help our hero! Townspeople1: Little John is right, Robin Hood has always helped us!let's go! A crazy battle starts. The townspeople helps Robin Hood, Little John and Maid Marian escape into the woods. Prince John: No!! He escaped again! Mommy!!! Townpeople: Hurray! Prince John: You all! I will raise the taxes again!!!!!!and you know that if you don't pay, you will be put in prison! Prince Johns leaves crying Mommy!!!!! In the church, Friar Tuck receives the Sheriff's visit Sheriff: Good morning, Friar. Have you got your money ready? Remember that today is collection day Friar Tuck: Get out of my church! You took my last coin! Sheriff: Arrest him! The Sheriff tells the guards You know that my friend; no money for the taxes, you go to the prison..ha, ha, ha Friar Tuck: Leave me alone Sheriff!! Friar Tuck shouts while the soldiers take him out Later, Prince John and the Sheriff talk in the palace... Prince John: So, the friar is in prison? Sheriff: Yes Majesty, he had no money to pay his taxes. Prince John: That makes me think my friend...i am sure that if we announce a terrible punishment for the friar in the morning, Robin Hood will come to the rescue tonight, and then... Sheriff: Then the guards will seize him! Prince John: Yes! Sheriff: Oh Majesty, you are brilliant! Prince John: I know..ha, ha, ha Sheriff: Ha, ha, ha In the forest... Little John: Robin, Robin, I have heard that Friar Tuck is in prison, and that tomorrow morning he will be punished. We have to do something! Robin: You are right Little John! We have to act quickly! Tonight we will go to the castle! Little John: Yes! Robin and Little John dressed as Prince's helpers go to the castle. The Sheriff is keeping guard. 5

Sheriff: They must be about to come...that time he won't escape! Robin Hood: disguised Sheriff, you must be exhausted. You can rest here a little bit while I watch for that nasty Robin. Sheriff: yawning The think is that I am falling asleep...thank you my friend...i will just sleep here for ten minutes... Robin Hood: Sure Sheriff! Have a nice rest! Whispering Little John, you can come now! Robin takes the jail key from the Sheriff Hurry up Little John! Here you have the jail key! Go and rescue the friar! I will go into the Prince's room to take all his gold. Little John: All right Robin! Take care please! Little John rescues Friar Tuck Friar Tuck: Thank you my friend! Little John: You are welcome! Hurry up! We have to get out of here! Friar Tuck: Let's go! Meanwhile, Robin is in the Prince's room stealing gold and the Prince awakes Prince John: You!!!Little monster!!it is you again!!!this time you won't escape! Guards!Seize him! Robin Hood: Bye, bye Robin leaves the room while all the guards chase him. He escapes from them all. Sheriff: He wakes up Oh no! Robin Hood again!!!! The Sheriff takes a torch to look for Robin Hood, but he trips and falls down. He sets the castle on fire accidentally. Sheriff: Oh, oh...i think this is not going to be good... The guards, the Sheriff and Prince John leave the castle. Later, Robin emerged from the flames Robin Hood: Ooo-da-lolly! Little John: Hurray!! Prince John: Mommy!!!!!!! He sucks his thumb 6

Back in Nottingham... Townpeople1: We finally got all our money back!! Townpeople2: Yes!All thanks to Robin Hood!Our hero!! Townpeople3: And did you hear the good news? King Richard has returned!! Townpeople: Hurray!!! King Richard: I can't believe all I heard about you!!!! Talking to the Sheriff, Prince John and Sir Hiss Guards, take them right now to the prison! Prince John: while taken away Mommy!!!!!!! All are invited to Robin Hood and Maid Marian wedding Everyone: Long live Robin Hood!! Long live Robin Hood!! Little John: We wish you all the best!!!!!! Robin Hood and Maid Marian wave while they leave Narrator: And that is how Nottingham was a happy place again. THE END 7
