INTRODUCTION Congratulations on becoming a happy owner of the SATRI AMP-51R. The AMP-51R is our finest achievement to date, our next generation flagship amplifier, born from years of experience and expertise in SATRI Circuit technology. Created with the highlighted features described below, the AMP-51R ensures the best quality of music reproduction possible. The All New Flagship SATRI Circuit The AMP-51R uses our top-of-the-line SATRI-IC-UL and the latest generation bias control circuit with a more stable current source circuit that enhances the output stages performance. The circuit is further enhanced by greatly reducing the signal paths and interference between the components. The latest high power MOSFETs from EXICON are implemented together with the exclusive driver circuit which enables a more stable output stage performance. Advanced Control Circuit An all new control circuit contributes to the AMP-51R s stability by automatically protecting itself from AC input changes, DC output and high temperature. It also detects the voltage fluctuations and controls the power supplies accordingly, so that the amplifier runs from a stable power supply at all times. An OLED display shows all the current status of the AMP-51R, and all operation of the unit is done by two hidden knobs underneath the front panel or with the remote controller. Ultra Precision Stepped Attenuator Circuit The Ultra Precision Stepped Attenuator is implemented for the first time in a Bakoon amplifier, with only the best available high precision resistors with 0.1% tolerance and 25 PPM/ C temperature coefficient. The circuit is completely controlled by the microprocessor unit (MPU) and it can be set in 50 steps, ensuring the best possible channel balance and signal purity. Ultra Low Noise Power Supply Three separate power transformers are used for the input stages, output stages and control stages. For the first time in a Bakoon s amplifier, a custom-made transformer from Plitron, boasting the lowest possible noise level. The power supply circuit also employs separate ultra-low noise regulator circuits to provide reliable power for the AMP-51R s high precision circuits. 6

Extreme Mechanical Engineering Bakoon s expertise in mechanical engineering delivers a precise, yet beautifully finished case design both inside and out. In order to transfer heat from the circuits more efficiently, there are two CNC machined copper heatsink blocks inside. Also, various heatsink patterns are machined throughout the exterior surfaces. The case itself is stabilized by three isolation feet, designed and positioned from meticulous calculations for the best anti-vibration performance. Packaging Inside the packaging box, you will find the below contents; AMP-51R Amplifier Remote Controller Remote Controller Battery Replacement Toolkit Owner s Manual / Safety Instruction A Pair of Gloves The original packaging box has been created to carefully protect its contents. Please do not throw away the box in case of possible shipments in the future. 7

OVERVIEW (FRONT PANEL) INPUT SELECT Underneath the front panel, there is a knob with which you can switch between and select input sources. Rotate it left or right swiftly, but gently, to change the input. During the input change, the gain level is automatically changed to zero (mute), after which it is then returned to its last position step. POWER & GAIN The power and gain control is combined with one single knob. With the AC power cable plugged in, the AMP-51R goes into standby mode with a separate standby transformer inside the unit. In standby mode, rotating the knob swiftly to right will turn on the amplifier and rotating it further to right will increase its gain level (or volume). Rotating it to left will decrease its gain level and at the minimum gain level, or step 0, rotating it swiftly further to left will turn off the unit and put the amplifier back into standby mode. Remarks: The latest generation bias circuit inside the AMP-51R stabilizes its bias level during the initial turn-on period for about 12 seconds. During this period, the AMP-51R is in mute mode with no signal output. OLED DISPLAY The OLED display, will always display the current status of the AMP- 51R s, and any changes made, the given text will show up at the display. Also, should the AMP-51 enter into any protection mode, such as problems from output DC, AC input or high temperature, this will also be shown on the display. IR SENSOR The small IR sensor located next to the OLED display receives the remote controller s signal. Be careful not to block its way. 8

OVERVIEW (REAR PANEL) AC POWER INLET The AC POWER INLET contains an AC power receptacle (IEC standard) and a fuse holder. Securely connect the AC power cable here. When replacing the fuse, be sure to use the same type and value specified on the marking label. MARKING LABEL The MARKING LABEL is located under the power inlet. It describes AC main voltage, power consumption, fuse type and value. Make sure you check this label carefully before the installation. Remarks: The AMP-51R incorporates an AC voltage sensing circuit that detects incoming AC voltage and its according DC output to automatically help select the AC transformer primary inputs, during the start-up and when it s running. This ensures the best performance at any given AC condition, but if the AC voltage is either too low (less than 10%) or too high (higher than 5%), the AMP-51R s protection circuit will automatically turn off the amplifier. LOUDSPEAKER OUTPUT When playing in the stereo mode, you can connect a pair of loudspeaker cables to the connectors according to + and markings. When playing in mono mode (with two AMP-51Rs), the right channel s + becomes its mono + output and the left channel s + becomes it mono output. Be careful not to touch and make contacts between any of these connectors during the installation, as this would pose a risk of damaging the amplifier and the loudspeakers. 9

OVERVIEW (REAR PANEL) INPUT (STEREO) There are two sets of conventional voltage inputs (RCA) and two sets of SATRI-LINK inputs (BNC). Conventional source components are compatible with the RCA voltage inputs. The SATRI-LINK is used exclusively for source components by Bakoon. Remarks: SATRI-LINK is a current signal transfer method between electronics. It can transfer the signals at very long distances and the input signal goes directly into the SATRI Circuit without any loss in signal quality. INPUT (MONO) The AMP-51R can be converted to play in mono mode. During its mono mode, the XLR connector is used for any conventional balanced voltage source and two BNC connectors, namely the SATRI-2LINK, are used for Bakoon s source with balanced current output. In mono mode, the AMP-51R s gain level is fixed, requiring that any connected sources in turn are equipped with a volume controller. (Alternatively through a preamplifier) Remarks: The XLR connector s pin 1 is ground, pin 2 is hot and pin 3 is cold. Remarks: Do not connect any stereo inputs during the mono mode. 10

OVERVIEW (REMOTE CONTROL) POWER The POWER button turns on or off the product. DECREASE GAIN A short click decreases the AMP-51R s gain level by one step and holding down the button MUTE & SELECT decreases the gain level continuously. During the AMP-51R s operation, a short/quick click on this button s mutes the amplifier, while INCREASE GAIN holding down the button a little longer changes A short click increases the AMP-51R s gain level the inputs.
