SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS Read carefully these instructions before connecting the unit. The operating voltage is indicated on the adapter. To prevent fire, short circuit, shock hazard: Do not expose the unit to rain or moisture. Install the unit in a dry location without infiltration or condensation of water. Do not expose it to dripping or splashing. Do not place objects filled with liquids, such as vases, on the apparatus. If any liquid should accidentally fall into the cabinet, disconnect the power plug. Refer to qualified technician before it's further operation. To avoid any risk of overheating: Install the unit in a well aery location and keep a minimum distance of 1 cm around the apparatus for sufficient ventilation. Do not place any items such as newspapers, table-cloths, curtains... on the unit that might cover the ventilation holes. The unit must not be exposed to any source of heat (sun, heater,...). Do not place any naked flame sources, such as lighted candles, on the apparatus. Do not install the product in a dusty place. Pull out power plug to make the different connections of cables. To avoid electrical shock, do not open the housing of adapter. Cleaning : Only use a dry soft cloth to clean the cabinet. Do not use solvent. Servicing : For repairing and servicing refer to qualified personnel. MOUNTING Grounding WARNING! Use only supplied power adapter. A different voltage and/or wrong polarity destroys the equalizer beyond repair! OPERATION All parameters are set with the rotary push button. Each function and parameters are shown on 2 digits display and different LEDs. Programming - Make all the necessary connections and connect the equalizer to mains. The software version is displayed, followed by a dot. - Push on the rotary button for more than 3 seconds to enter into programming mode. 3sec. - Turn the button to select the desired mode. Mode is indicated with a GREEN colored LED. = green LED = red LED The LED is now RED colored. - Inside the mode, turn the button to select the parameter (input, cluster, channels, level...) 1 2 3 4 6 7 8 9 Cluster LEDs Display - Push the button to confirm the parameter setting. LED returns to a GREEN color. Repeat this section to set all parameters The equalizer will go in "stand-by" and will display a dot after 1 minute if the rotary / push button is not activated. 4
PRESETS - The filter-equalizer has 40 presets. See the list of presets in annex. To recall a preset Example : preset n 17 - Turn the button to select. - Inside the mode, turn the button to select the desired preset number. Display Notes: In the preset mode "01 to 40" the channels are "fixed". The level adjustments, the input amplifier and configuration of input can be modified. The "00" configuration allows to set all parameters. Display
CLUSTER PROGRAMMING Setting clusters per input - The filter-equalizer has 2 UHF input which are splitted over 9 clusters and 1 input for 1 cluster. There are three possible configurations: Input Number of cluster(s) 9 6 0 3 4 UHF 1 clusters are indicated by the RED LEDs n 1 to 9. UHF 2 clusters are indicated by the GREEN LEDs n 6 to 9. To select the number of UHF clusters: Select position n 00 to have access to the settings See "Presets" on page. - Turn the button to select. - Turn the button to set one configuration. Display of selected configuration : cluster indication cluster indication 1 2 3 4 6 7 8 9 Input Number of clusters Display "9.0" "6.3" ".4" 9 6 0 3 4 cluster indication Note: Each non used cluster has to be switched off (park function). Set the cluster to channel 00 (see "Setting channels / cluster"). 6
Setting channels / cluster Each UHF cluster has a bandwidth which can be programmed from 1 to 2 channels. Each cluster has one channel bandwidth. To set the channel(s) per cluster : In the following example cluster 1 is set for channel 22 to channel 23. - Turn the button to select the mode. Mode is indicated with a GREEN coloered LED = GREEN LED = RED LED - Inside the mode, turn the button to select the cluster to be set. LED n 1 1 2 3 4 6 7 8 9 - Turn the button to select the mode. - Turn the button to select the start channel Display - Turn the button to select the mode. - Turn the button to select the stop channel Display Repeat this section to set all clusters 7
Notes: - cluster: the display shows L to L10 for the standard "L" channels and 0 to 12 for the "B/G" standard channels. - Single channel mode: when the Channel () is selected, the Channel ( ) is automatically set at the same value. - Park function: To switch off a cluster, select and set the value to 00. The value is automatically set to 00. - If there are overlapping clusters, the display dots will blink alternately. Cluster 1 Cluster 2 Ch. 24-2 Ch. 2-26 Channel To check the channel settings of each cluster: - Turn the button to select. - Puch the rotary button to enter the selected mode. - Turn the button to choose the cluster to be checked. - The disoplay shows the channels which have been set. Examples Exemples are: : 1 2 3 4 6 7 8 9 Cluster is parked Cluster is set to channel 22 Blinking 22 and 23: cluster is set from 22 to 23. - Push the button to exit. 8
LEVEL ADJUSTMENT setting To set the level. - Select the desired cluster. Example : setting the level of cluster 2 - Turn the button to select the mode. - Turn the button to select cluster 2. 1 2 3 4 6 7 8 9 LED is acitvated - Turn the button to select the mode. - Turn the button to set the level, variable from 30 db to 0 db. Note: '30' is for maximum gain. '18' indicates 12 db attenuator. Repeat this section to set all levels 9
Each UHF input has a 20 db switchable amplifier. This is used as aditional 20 db attenuator for high levels up to 9 dbµv. 10 db on input for signals up to 8 dbµv. Input Amplifier To switch off the input amplifier. - Select the input to be attenuated. - Turn the button to select the mode. Filter & Input selection Filter & Input selection - Turn the button to select the input. UHF 1 1 2 3 4 6 7 8 9 UHF 2 All LEDs of selected input are activated Filter & Input selection - Turn the button to select the mode. La LED est VERTE La LED est à présent ROUGE - Turn the button to switch off the input amplifier. In 'OFF' position the input signal is 20 db attenuated in UHF and 10 db in. La LED est VERTE 10
