P a g e 4 D U C K T A L E S HARBOR MASTER REPORT FROM HARRY STEELE: Frisky Mermaid 1 Docks We had our 4 th flood. The water went on A thru F parking lot, the light house and the road from the gate to the club. Clean up was the week before the long weekend. We had a lot of help. Since School was out sons and grandsons were out to help. This flood had some problems due to boats being out with high water. The wake came into the harbor (since the light house was under water). We lost the foam off of the guest dock and E dock. Next flood we need to get a no wake notice out for this area (maybe on river bills and face books). c. Plan to install the wood separators in the ramps on A thru G docks when the water stays down. d. All the lights except G dock have been check and replaced. Will do G dock this week. e. I have started a list of all the docks that need water valves replaced. 2 Water The water system: Howard and I replaced the big pump. It works great and puts out good pressure. Howard will test the big pump and adjust and/or replace the reset switch. The small pump needs a new foot valve. All will be fixed before next weekend. A temporary fix was placed on A dock water. Thanks to Bill Brueggmann. I will purchase material and put that end of A dock back on line. 3 Land We plan to treat the rocks this week. I will start cleaning the foam for the weeds. I plan to paint the F dock patio in June. We are still replacing the lights on the road and will have Joe come and look at the ones that do not work. Took the old patio table that ended up on G dock parking and put it in the dumpster. Put new signs on the dumpsters about closing them for raccoons. Some one took the pool that was there to open/close them. The light house light is not working. I checked the system and we have voltage. We need to replace the lights. 4 Club The pool is working well. The volume of swimmers is high. I have all the flags for the club up and flying. I plan to take the flags down during bad weather. ARE YOU READY FOR THE SECOND ANNUAL DCYC DOCK CRAWL- POKER RUN & DOCK INSPECTIONS? THIS WAS ONE OF THE MOST POPULAR EVENTS LAST YEAR, SO DON T MISS OUT THIS YEAR! The Social Committee is working with the Board of Directors to add a little bit of fun to the annual dock inspections which will be on Saturday, July 24th. Players can purchase a poker hand for as little as $5. Each dock: A, B, C, D etc will have cards to pick up for you to play your lucky hand for a 50-50 cash payout at the club. To keep things lively, each dock is also encouraged to decorate their dock with a theme, so get in touch with your fellow slip neighbors and mark your calendars NOW for July 24th and plan on seeing which dock is the best dressed. More details to follow in next months newsletter, but we want to get everyone thinking and talking ahead of time in order for this event to be a success. If you have any questions, contact Sonny Robbins Cotton-Top, or John Sturm All About Lynda.

J U L Y 2 0 1 0 I s s u e 2 0 0 P a g e 5 RESTAURANT REPORT FROM MARK BACHMAN: HOURS OF OPERATION FOR JULY THURSDAY - SUNDAY OPEN AT NOON KITCHEN CLOSES AT 9P.M. ON THURSDAY AND SUNDAY KITCHEN CLOSES AT 10P.M. With the season entering the peak summer months a few reminders: 1. Absolutely no coolers, beverages or food are allowed to be brought to the pool, gazebo or deck during hours of operation. 2. Please remember to put the umbrellas down and to clean up after yourself poolside on Monday - Wednesday as the club is closed. 3. Refrain from entering the kitchen at anytime under any circumstance out permission. 4. Most importantly myself and my staff work very hard to provide superior food, special request and the best service possible, keep in mind that your bartenders and servers work very hard, so please remember to tip appropriately.

P a g e 6 D U C K T A L E S FROM THE HELM: BOARD MEETING NOTES TO MEMBERS- A message from RUSS LARAMIE, 2010 DCYC Commodore, Fox Den... Owners and Members, Several items have come up at the June Board Meeting that I would like to pass along. 1. No dogs are allowed in the pool area. If a dog were to enter the pool we are required to shut the pool down until the water can be treated. This can ruin the weekend for everyone wanting to use the pool. Signs will be posted at the pool entrance as a reminder. 2. Dumpster lids must remain closed. If you open it to deposit your trash please close it when finished. If you see it left open by someone else please close it. This will keep our raccoon population under control. There is a pole located by the dumpsters in case you need it. Signs are posted on the dumpsters as a reminder. 3. Firearms are not allowed in pool area or clubhouse. (This includes those who have conceal carry permits) Firearms are not allowed to be discharged on Duck Club Property unless prior approval has been granted from the Duck Club Board. Signs will be posted at all entrances to the club. 4. Dock alterations (adding a patio, lighting, non-approved furniture and dock boxes). We have specific by-laws to address this so we can have uniformity throughout the harbor. Board approval is required if you want to deviate from the by-laws. If you have a question concerning this please ask a board member or request time to discuss at the monthly board meeting. If you have an issue related to any of the Duck Club rules and regulations please contact any board member. Thank You, Russ Laramie Check out the DCYC website which has been newly updated: Sign up with your e-mail address to be among the first to receive the latest club news such as flood updates/club opening and closing information, restaurant news and any other pressing news as things are always changing at the river! As a reminder, the website address is: ducktalesonline.com. Thanks to TJ Kirgin Time Well $pent for all of your hard work. GENTLEMEN, START YOUR ENGINES! The DCYC By-Laws read: Any vessel occupying a slip at Duck Club must be moved under its own permanent power into the river at least once every 60 day period except during the winter months of November through February. The annual fleet inspections are this month, and letters will be sent out to those to whom this by-law will apply.
