To Our Concert Goers As most of you know, tonight s concert is a rescheduled apperance of Manfred Honeck and the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. For this, our 25th season of the Lively Arts, the PSO was originally scheduled to perform an all-beethoven Concert on February 21, 2015. The weather on that day and night were questionable at best. With snow turning to ice then to rain, the scenario appeared it could be dangerous driving before and after the concert for both the audience members driving locally and the orchestra members traveling from Pittsburgh. The decision was made early afternoon that day to cancel, and we began the process of trying to inform everyone. Through our over 2,000 email contacts, our social media as well as that of the Indiana Gazette and local radio, and telephone calls from patrons, we were able to get the word out to the vast majority of ticket holders. Then as we worked to get the concert rescheduled, we continued to keep our audiences informed as much as possible. With the great help of the PSO management team, we were able to quickly announce that the new concert and new repertoire would be performed tonight, April 20, 2015. This was not a simple task but had committed partners on all sides. We then set out to again reach over 4,500 followers through several posts on Facebook and Twitter, a few emails to a couple thousand patrons as well as all those who purchased tickets online, phone calls to patrons having requested direct information, announcements in the local newspapers and on the local radio stations, and more. So, given all that, we are here, tonight, to witness Maestro Honeck leading the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. This time, with a different program that, like the February one, is sure to thrill. Because the February program was printed and all ready to go, we have chosen to save some paper and supply this insert with the appropriate information. In the full program, you will find a bio of Maestro Honeck as well as the full roster of the Pittsburgh Symphony. You will also find all of our advertisers, donors, and funders who helped make tonight and the entire season possible. In this insert, we are also updating you on the remaining events of the season along with information about our Ovations! series finale event, the multi-tony winning Broadway touring show, Memphis: The Musical. This energizing show is filled with original music and incredible dancing that is sure to liven up any audience (contains some strong language). Celebrate the final day of the spring semester, starting at 8:00 p.m. on May 4, with Memphis in Fisher Auditorium. Ovations! 2015-2016 We are rapidly getting everything in place for the 2015-2016 season. Provided all fiscal matters fall into place and contracts are fully executed, we plan to announce the next season at an upcoming Chamber of Commerce event on Thursday, May 21. Be sure to keep a watch on the newspaper, on radio, and especially our social media. iup.edu/livelyarts #iuplivelyarts

And Speaking of next season, help us... Which Ballet? It will soon be over 15 years since IUP has brought in a touring classic ballet company, and it is something for which many of our community members and students have repeatedly asked. We have a company in mind, but we want you to help us pick which production will be presented. Both are by Piotr Tchaikovsky, one of the great masters of music for the ballet as you will hear tonight. Both are blockbusters. This survey will close May 1, 2015, and the results will be announced through Facebook and Twitter by 10:00 p.m. on May 21, 2015. To complete the survey, go to www.iup.edu/livelyarts and click on Which Ballet?
