INT. S ROOM-DAY MONTAGE: The sun pours in through the window onto, 18, who is just waking up. He does the normal morning things. The emphasis here is on normal. He puts on his clothes, his deodorant, he brushes his teeth, he deals with his hair, etc. Dan goes downstairs, and opens the refrigerator. Inside their is a pre-cut grapefruit in a bowl with a sticky-note labeled: "Dan (:" Dan smiles and grabs it. A viewer with a discerning eye will notice the refrigerator is loaded with lemons. He pours himself a glass of orange juice. He grabs the paper from the kitchen table. He goes out to his porch, sits at a table, and picks up his spoon. Water begins to squirt out of Dan s finger. END MONTAGE. What the...? Dan is confused as water continues to squirt out of his finger, drenching the table, the newspaper, his clothes--everything. He grabs it with his other hand, effectively stopping it. He looks around, confused. He lets go. It starts spurting again. OPENING TITLE: "SQUIRT!" INT. S DEN--DAY, 18, sits in front of the television with a lightly buttered English muffin and a cup of tea. Jeopardy is on. TREBEK This African tribe is famous for its all natural steel-making process. What is the Nick-Nack tribe? His cell phone rings, so he pauses the T.V. and answers it.

CONTINUED: 2. Rufus Charleston, here; With whom am I speaking? INT. S KITCHEN--DAY Dan stands over his sink, a rag wrapped around his water-finger, and the phone in the other hand. The rag is dripping with water. Hey Rufus. It s Dan. INT. S DEN--DAY Rufus has the phone to his ear. Hello Daniel. How are you? Rufus face changes from that of pleasant conversation to that of confusion. Well, that s odd. Right out of the index finger? Hmm. Rufus takes a bite of his English Muffin. Very curious. I ll be over as soon as I finish breakfast. Rufus hangs up, and plays the T.V. He sips his tea. TREBEK Every February 22 the- As Trebek continues with the clue, Rufus answers. What is St. Baldinucci Day? INT. S FRONT HALL AREA-DAY Dan sits on the stairs opposite his front door. His water hand is in a bucket, and a tinkling of water can be heard. He stares anxiously at the door, fidgeting. The doorbell rings.

CONTINUED: 3. Dan jumps up and opens the door. It s, 18. She is very pretty, with long blond hair and a yellow sun-dress. She holds a basket of lemons. Dan was not expecting her, and he quickly grabs his water finger in embarrassment. He blushes, but smiles, excited to see her. Lisa also seems excited to see him. Hi Danny! She waves, and holds up the basket. I ve got more lemons! Great! Let me just- Lisa looks down at Dan s finger, sill dripping slightly through the rag and his hand holding it. She seems concerned. What happened to your finger? Dan racks his brain for an answer. Dan smiles. Um, I, uh, I burned it. Ooh, I m sorry. Ha. It s fine. Let me just go grab my wallet- Dan points behind him and starts to move where he pointed, as Lisa smiles. Oh, no. These will be get-well-soon lemons. house! On the She smiles warmly and grabs a few lemons from her basket. Oh, no, Lisa, don t worry- She smiles and holds out three lemons.

CONTINUED: 4. I insist. Dan beams, and awkwardly takes the three lemons without letting go of his finger. Lisa ignores how awkward he is, and smiles throughout the whole transaction. Well, thanks a lot, Lisa. No problem, Dan. See you soon! She waves, and turns to leave. Thanks again! Bye! Thanks! He closes the door, leans against it, and smiles. the lemons, and brings them to the kitchen. He grabs He opens the refrigerator, then opens a crisper drawer, but it is already filled with lemons. He opens the drawer next to it, which has vegetables and a few lemons in it, but room for more. He adds them. A knocking is heard on the door, and Dan quickly closes the refrigerator, then runs to answer. He opens the door. It s Rufus. Rufus steps inside. You know I have a doorbell, right? I prefer the classic yet classy knock. Sue me. Now let me see the finger. Dan holds his finger out to Rufus, it is still wrapped in a wet rag. It started this morning- Well I can t see it with the rag on Daniel.

CONTINUED: 5. Dan walks over to bucket and unwraps his finger, which spurts a jet of water into the bucket. Rufus looks with interest and slight concern. Oh my. How did it happen? Dan sits down, exasperated. He keeps his finger in his bucket. Rufus perks up. I dunno Rufus, it just sort of did. I was just eating breakfast- What did you have for breakfast? Um... A grapefruit and a glass of OJ. Rufus looks appalled. That is ridiculous! That s too much citrus! What does citrus have to do with my finger inexplicably shooting a jet of water? Well Dan, it just might have everything to do with it... Rufus holds up a finger as if to notify Dan to wait for him to finish. Or,...nothing. Dan gives Rufus an awkward stare, then:...how? Rufus thinks.

CONTINUED: 6. Well, I don t know. But it- No, Rufus. This has nothing to do with too much citrus. Dan stares at Rufus. Rufus stares at Dan. The only sound is the tinkle of water into the bucket. But it might. You know, I did just see that lemon girl- Lisa? So? Well, Daniel, lemons are a citrus fruit... Yes, Rufus, I m aware... Well, do I need to spell it out for you? Apparently. Rufus thinks, then shrugs. Okay, so it s probably not too much citrus then. No. Probably not. I think I can safely say it has nothing to do with citrus. Rufus nods, but not enthusiastically. to trickle into the bucket. Dan s water continues END TITLE: "SQUIRT!" (The trickle can still be heard) CUT TO: Rufus hold up a finger, as if to say "Eureka!"

CONTINUED: 7. But it-! No. END OF EPISODE ONE.
