2. BSS Logo General info The Great British Shooting Show is the UK & Europe s largest trade and retail shooting show. Being the premier event for the global shooting industry, it is important to correctly communicate the logo in the press, social media, videos and in marketing material. A few points to keep in mind when using our logo. Only show the logo in its original form. Don t edit, rotate or otherwise modify the logo. Don t stretch or squash the logo from its original proportions. Don t add extra graphics or text on top of the logo itself. Don t use previous versions of the logo. Always follow the clearspace guidelines highlighted in this document. Feel free to: Make sure the logo is still clearly visible where featured. We encourage brands to get creative with the logo! Place the logo onto a photo or coloured background. (as long as the logo is clearly visible) Add a subtle drop shadow behind the logo. BSS Logo Clear space It is important to keep marks clear of any other graphic elements. To regulate this, an exclusion zone has been established around the logo. This exclusion zone indicates the closest any other graphic element or message can be positioned in relation of the mark. They have a fixed relationship that should never be changed in any way. 100% Definition Whenever you use the logo, it should be surrounded with clear space to ensure its clear visibility and impact. No graphic elements of any kind should invade this zone. The clearspace is demonstrated in the diagram to the right. Computation The clear space surrounding the logo is worked out at 20% of the logo s width. This is to surround the entire logo. Don t ignore the clear space Any content invading the clear space can detract from the logo s impact and visibility and is therefore incorrect use of the British Shooting Show logo. BSS Logo Placement & Pairings The mark needs to be clearly visible in all forms of media. The colours used within the logo must never be altered in any way. Drop shadow may be applied to add seperation. Colour The British Shooting Show logo must always be visible, in full colour and the type must be legible. Sometimes it may be necessary to add a slight tint to the image. We suggest using a 10-20% black tint to the entire image to maintain visibility of the logo. There is one exception to our full coloured logo: Some limitations when using printed media may apply, in this case, the logo would be permitted to be printed in greyscale with prior permission from the British Shooting Show. Layer 2 20% black tint Layer 1 Original image Pairings Pairing with the logo is useful to display that you will be attending, or are interested in the British Shooting Show. When pairing with the logo, make sure to keep the clear space in mind, and for the height of your text not to exceed 100% of the British Shooting Show logo height. BSS Brand Using British Shooting Show Marks The British Shooting Show marks include, but are not limited to, the British Shooting Show name, logo, the term BSS and any word, phrase, image, or other designation that identifies the source of origin of any British Shooting Show product. Always capitalise the initials of the British Shooting Show or BSS. Merchandise A product branded with the British Shooting Show name or logo is a reflection of the British Shooting Show. Unless the logo is paired with see us at or other promotional text, We don t allow others to make, sell, or give away anything with our name or logo on it. Naming and design marks Never use the British Shooting Show logos as your own. Please don t incorporate the British Shooting Show s marks in whole or in part, in the name of your company, product, service, website, domain name, application or website.
