Connections Removable 3-way screw terminals, 5 mm pitch Rear IDC10 connector for DIN 46277 rail Dimensions Box Dimensions / Box L: 100 mm; H: 112 mm; W: 17,5 mm PA6, Black 2.. 11 Isolations Ingressi Digitali. IDC10 RS485. Standards The module complies with the following standards: EN61000-6-4 (electromagnetic emission, industrial environment). EN61000-6-2 (electromagnetic immunity, industrial environment). EN61010-1 (safety). Alimentazione IDC10 1500V ADDITIONAL NOTES : Use in Pollution Degree 2 Environment. Power Supply must be Class 2. A max 2.5 A rated fuse shall be installed near the module. Installation Rules The module is designed to be installed in vertical position on a DIN 46277 rail. In order to ensure optimum performance and the longest working life, the module(s) must be supplied adequate ventilation and no raceways or other objects that obstruct the ventilation slots. Never install modules above sources of heat; we recommend installation in the lower part of the control cabinet. MI002056-E ENGLISH 3/8
Inserting on the DIN rail As illustrated in the next figure: 1) Insert the rear IDC10 connector on a DIN rail free slot (the insertion is univocal because the connectors are polarized). 2) Tighten the two locks placed at the sides of the rear IDC10 connector to fix the module. Electrical Connections Power Supply and MODBUS Interface Power Supply and Modbus interface are available by using the bus for the Seneca DIN rail, by the rear IDC10 connector or by Z-PC-DINAL1-17.5 accessory. RS485 GND RS485 A RS485 B Power Supply AC / + Power Supply AC / - 1 IDC 10 Rear Connector (IDC10) The figure show the meaning of the IDC10 connector pins, when the signals are provided directly through this connector. Z-PC-DINAL2-17.5 Accessory Use When Z-PC-DINAL2-17.5 accessory is used the signals are provided by terminal blocks. The figure shows the meaning of the terminals and the position of the DIPswitch (present on each DIN rail supports listed on Accessories list) for network termination (not used in case of Modbus network). GNDSHLD: Shield to protect the connecting cables signal against interference (recommended). 19-28 V 10-40 V 2 3 Power Supply As an alternative to the bus connection by Z-PC-Dinx it is also possible use the terminals 2-3 to provide power supply to the module. The upper limits must not be exceeded, to avoid serious damage to the module. If the power source is not protected against overload, then a safety fuse with a maximum value of 0.5 A must be installed in the power supply line. MI002056-E ENGLISH 4/8
DIGITAL INPUTS REED, PROXIMITY PNP, NPN, and contact-type sensor can be connected to the input terminals. The terminal 12 (+16V) is able to deliver the power supply directly for this sensors. All the inputs are connected in shared connection to terminal 1 GND. The flowing current through a closed input is approx. 3 ma. + Z-D-IN-1 16V 12 7 8 9 10 11 12 #1 7 #2 8 #3 9 #4 10 #5 11 12 PNP #1 7 #2 8 #3 9 #4 10 #5 11 NPN R=1k5 #1 #2 #3 #4 #5 1k5 1k5 1k5 1k5 Input #1: 0 100 Hz Input #2: 0 100 Hz Input #3: 0 100 Hz Input #4: 0 100 Hz Input #5: 0 100 Hz input #5: 0 10 khz 1 1 1 Modbus connection rules 1) Install the modules on the DIN rail (max 120). 2) Connect the remote modules using cables of proper length. Data about the cable lengths are provided on the following table: -Bus Length: Modbus network Maximum length as a function of the Baud Rate. For the best performances, the use of special shielded cables is suggested (BELDEN 9841 cable for example). DIP-switches settings The DIP-switches positions define the module Modbus communication parameters: address and Baud Rate. In the following table the Baud Rate and the address values are listed as a function of the DIP-switches positions: DIP-Switches Status POSITION BAUD POSITION ADDRES POSITION 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 910 RATE 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 910 S 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 910 TERMI- NATOR x x x x x x x x 9600 x x x x # 1 x x x x x x x x x Disabilitato x x x x x x x x 19200 x x x x # 2 x x x x x x x x x Enabled x x x x x x x x 38400 x x...... x x #... x x x x x x x x 57600 x x x x # 63 x x x x From EEPRO x x x x From EEPROM Note: when switches from 3 to 8 are in OFF, comunication settings are taken from the EEprom.
