Export Price Index in Iran Khordad 1387 (1376 = 100) The Export Price Index (XPI) went up 4.9 percent in Khordad 1387. Showing the index point of 676.0, the XPI was 26.4 percent higher than the similar month in 1386. During the first three months of the current Iranian year, the XPI increased 23.7 percent compared to the similar period in 1386. The XPI rose 18.1 percent during the last twelve months leading to Khordad 1387 compared with the similar preceding period. The 4.9 percent advance in the XPI, in Khordad 1387, was mainly due to some increases of 38.0 percent in the benzene price index, 23.2 percent in the hot coil iron price index, 4.4 percent in the propane price index, 19.4 percent in the sulfur price index, 11.7 percent in the pistachio price index, 5.6 percent in the butane price index, 33.1 percent in the hydrogenised oil price index, 0.7 percent in the hand-woven carpet price index, 10.0 percent in the syringe price index, 12.5 percent in the detergent powders price index, 2.1 percent in the sheep assorted casing price index, 10.0 percent in the raisin price index, 9.6 percent in the cumin price index, 2.6 percent in the ethylene and propylene price index, 0.7 percent in the processed sheep skins price index, 11.1 percent in the paraffin price index, The index is compiled by Rial prices and during the reported period compared to the previous month, the exchange rates of Dollar and Euro increased 0.7 percent and 0.5 percent, respectively. 1

3.6 percent in the saffran price index and 11.4 percent in the glues price index. In this month, the decline in the index price of zinc-oxide concentrate was considerable. In Khordad 1387 compared to the similar month of the previous year, there were some increases of 31.7 percent in the animal products group index, 19.1 percent in the vegetable products group index, 109.8 percent in the animal or vegetable fats and oils group index, 22.5 percent in the prepared foodstuffs, beverages and tobacco group index, 20.2 percent in the mineral products group index, 56.0 percent in the products of the chemical or allied industries group index, 2.5 percent in the plastics and articles thereof, rubber and articles thereof group index, 23.1 percent in the skins and leather and articles thereof group index, 38.0 percent in the wood and articles of wood group index, 10.6 percent in the textiles and textile articles group index, 2.9 percent in the footwear group index, 6.6 percent in the articles of stone group index, 35.8 percent in the base metals and articles of base metal group index, 1.7 percent in the machinery and mechanical appliances, electrical equipment group index, 4.3 percent in the vehicles and associated transport equipment group index and 44.1 percent in the optical, precision and medical instruments group index. 2
