Fix them with vinyl tape. 2.2 Fix the copper wire onto each phase with vinyl tape. 2.3 Apply a second mastic strip covering the copper wires onto the first layer. 2.4 Cover the mastic tape with two layers of vinyl tape. Fig. 2a Armoured cable: Contact the bent back copper wires to the armour using the large constant force spring. Do not remove too far that the fingers begin to collapse. 3.2 Slide the breakout boot into position. 3.3 Remove the neck core and shrink the boot neck onto the cable jacket. 3.4 Remove the core from each of the fingers. 3.5 Trim the copper wires at dimension A + D. 3.6 Wrap a layer of the copper foil tape over the copper wire according to the dimension given. Cut tubing and inner braid together. Inner polyester braid should extend approx. 75 mm beyond re-jacketing tube end before cutting. 4.3 Slide re-jacketing sleeve and overlap the finger by 25 mm. 4.4 Wrap the end of the re-jacketing sleeve with one half-lapped layer of vinyl tape according to dimension given in Fig. 4. Copper Foil Tape M Fig. 5 5.1 Remove the outer semi-conductive screen according to the dimensions given. 5.2 Remove the primary insulation according to dimension D. * Allow 5 mm allowance for crimp lugs NOTE: Ensure termination body inner core diameter is greater than the lug. Fig. 6 6.1 For compression lugs, crimp the lugs as per normal practice. 6.2 For shear-bolt lugs, install the lugs as per the instructions provided with the lugs. 6.3 Abrade all sharp edges and burs from the lugs. 6.4 Clean the insulation and lug using the CC-2 cable cleaning kit provided. 6.5 Apply a layer of vinyl tape according to dimension M. QT-III Termination Body Fig. 7 7.1 Slide the QT-III termination body into position. Remove the collapsible zip core by unwinding it in counter clockwise direction.
