Technical Ntes: Evlutins New Layer Cut and Fill feature: the Cut & Fill feature allws keying the cntent f a layer using an input r a still picture (frame r lg) as the alpha channel. Usually, the Cut cntent (the mask), is a grey level cntent: the darker the grey level, the mre transparent the Fill cntent. If a clred cntent is used as Cut cntent, the Luma level f the Cut cntent is used t key the Fill cntent. As the Cut&Fill feature requires tw layers (ne fr the Cut and ne fr the Fill), nly layers A, C, E can be cut. T enable the Cut&Fill feature fr a layer, g t the Edit/Live tab f the Web RCS and select a layer. Enable the feature in the Layers prperties panel (n the right side f the Web RCS). A small area appears in the tp right crner f the layer, indicating that the feature is activated. Then select the surce fr the Cut using the right side panel r just drag-n-drpping the surce t the small area in the Layer. A snapsht f the Cut surce appears in this area. Others parameters such as crpping, flip and luma level threshlds are available. This feature cis based n layer parameters that are included in the preset memry: it means that these settings can be different frm a preset t anther ne. Fr example, using a static frame as Cut cntent and playing with the threshlds allws creating dynamic transitin effects. Custm Output Frmats: Using ne f the tw available mdes (CVT r full), peratrs can nw create their wn utput frmat. This feature is very useful fr LED wall applicatins and nnstandard industrial display applicatins. T access the Custm Frmats, g t the SETUP > OUTPUT sectin f the Web RCS Select the Custm Frmats n the left side. 1 www.analgway.cm
LiveCre units ffer 10 memries t stre the user custm frmat. T mdify ne f the 10 frmats, just select it and enter the Edit mde by click the dedicated buttn. Then chse the mde t create/mdify the custm frmat In the CVT mde, the peratr nly has t set the width, height and rate f the frmat and t indicate if this frmat has reduced blanking intervals. The LiveCre unit will cmpute the frmat parameters accrding t CVT 1.1 frmulas. In the Full mde, the peratr can access and set all the parameters f the frmat (H&V frnt prch, H&V sync, H&V back prch, width height, sync plarity ) Once the settings are achieved, the peratr must check it t be sure that it fits with the unit capabilities (pixel frequency, line frequency ). Additinal actns can be achieved in the Edit mde f the Custm Frmats Lad frm: pre-lad the settings f a custm frmat with thse f anther memry. Reset t default: reset all the setting t their default values Cancel: quit the Edit mde withut saving the changes. Delete: delete all the setting f the memry slt and tag it as free (will nt appear in the list f available utput frmats) When setting the frmat f an utput, the custm frmats appear in the list f the available frmats nly if their rate equals the Internal Rate f the unit. 4K Frames: It is nw pssible t imprt r capture 4K frames. Just like fr Dual frames, a 4K frame must be declared as 4K and requires tw frame slts. A 4K frame can be assigned t frame slt #2 r #4. When using a 4K frame in a layer, the adjacent layer is disabled; nly layer A, C, E can be used. Hetergeneus Link supprt (WebRCS nly): Using the Web RCS, it is nw pssible t link any kind f Ascenders tgether. Just like fr a link between tw similar units, the peratr must t cnnect the cables between the tw different units and t start the Web RCS f the device that will used as the master unit. The rules fr the hetergeneus link are : The tw units must have the same firmware versin (at least 3.01.XYZ) 4K units can be linked t nn-4k units 4K Perspective Layers can be linked t nn 4K nn Perspective Layers units N dwngrade f the mst pwerful unit is necessary. The limitatins f the screens are linked t the utput capabilities : A screen cntaining several utputs with different number f layers will be limited t the capabilities f the weakest utput. Fr example: linking an ASC4806 t an ASC3204, a screen made f 2 utputs cming frm bth units will be limited t 4 layers. Hwever the remaining utputs f the ASC4806 still have 6 layers A screen cntaining utputs supprting Perspective Layers and thers withut this feature can t be declared as Perspective Layers Please nte that the SmartMatriX Ultra (ref. SMX12x4) is nt cncerned and can nly be linked t anther SMX12x4. Device temprary Dwngrade (t be used with Vertige cntrller): ASC4806, ASC3204 and NXT1604 can be dwngraded t a lwer mdel (This feature is nt available fr ASC1602, SMX12x4 and NXT0802). This feature can be useful t wrk with the Vertige cntrller that nly supprts assemblies with same type units. T dwngrade a LiveCre unit, g t the SETUP > CONTROL sectin f the Web RCS. Select the dwngraded device t btain. Click the Dwngrade buttn and cnfirm t start the dwngrade prcedure. The device will rebt. Once the unit has rebted, a small icn indicate in the tp right brder f the Web RCS that it wrks as a dwngraded unit. Fr Sft-Edge Blending purpse, the maximum hrizntal cvering size set t 2048px: t fit with new 4K utput frmat, the maximum hrizntal size f the verlapping area is set t 2048 pixels New utput frmats 3840x1080 and 4096x1080 (up t 60 Hz): these frmats are supprted by the Dual-Link DVI utput plugs f the LiveCre units. Technical Ntes: Evlutins New Perspective Layers feature: nly available fr ASC4806 equipped with ptin OPT-4K-ASC4806-PL, this feature enables t handle layers in a 3D space. Using Advanced Layer Management, up t 12 perspective layers can be displayed n the same screen. Each screen can be declared as Perspective Layers independently in the Setup>SetupAssistant>Screens menu. When declaring a screen as Perspective Layers, the peratr can als enable/disable the Z-mixing When enabled, all the layers are in the same space can be depth switched using the Z dimensin. When disabled, the layers rder remains unchanged : A, B, C, D Changing the Z dimensin acts like zming. Cmpared t standard 2D layer cntrls, specific layer settings are available Z, Rt X, Rt Y, Rt Z Anchr Pint: each layer has an anchr pint that is used as a reference t apply psitin and rtatin settings. The peratr can select amng nine psitin fr the anchr pints. Web RCS : A new Quick setup panel gives direct access t glbal functins : enable /disable HDCP n inputs/utputs, display ID Pattern, input aut-set. The display f cnfirmatin messages is mdified. The frmer ergnmics displayed the message at the center f the display and lcked the entire screen until the actin was cnfirmed. Nw when clicking a buttn fr an actin needing cnfirmatin, the buttn starts blinking and a small pp up windw is displayed centered at the bttm f the Web RCS. Simply click again the buttn (nt the pp-up windw) t cnfirm the actin. Example : when resetting the Prgram in the Edit/Live mdes the fllwing message is displayed : In the Edit/Live mdes, a buttn is added t surces (inputs, frames and lgs) s they can be directly displayed full screen n the Mnitring utput. A dedicated shrtcut is als available. Preview screens can be displayed n screens declared as cnfidence mnitrs (clean preview nly). Please nte that preview verlay can t be displayed. Tw new frmats are supprted t create 4K screens with tw side by side utputs. These frmats are 1920 x 2160 and 2048 x 2160.They can be used at 30Hz and 60Hz. Please nte that at 60 Hz, the input r utput must be cnfigured as Dual-Link. Bug fixes Crrectin f Native Backgrund management fr dual surces (Dual input n Screen 2x1): the crrect half f the input is assigned t each utput. Using the Web RCS, the T-bar is managed like Vertige T-bar n multiple screens. The input is captured prperly when the Aspect In is applied. A layer cntaining a keyed input is nw mixed prperly accrding t its alpha cntent: befre crrectin, transparent part f the keyed input tended t be darker that they shuld be. Restrictins Native surces must have the same size as the utputs in Perspective Screen using Z-Mixing mde. Dual Link and 4K surces can t be used in Perspective Layers. Technical Ntes: Evlutins The Web RCS was redesigned t prvide mre efficiency and t enhance the user experience: It uses a Flat Design interface, much legible and much simple fr the PC graphic bard t draw. As a cnsequence, the interface is up t 30% mre reactive than befre and the PC memry usage was dramatically imprved. The switching between EDIT and LIVE tabs is nw instantaneus. The new design is als mre cmpact and mre adapted fr smaller screen reslutins. Althugh they still have their wn specificities, the EDIT and LIVE mdes nw share many features t prvide mre efficiency. Fr example, the Memries and Layers Managements have been unified. The EDIT mde displays ne screen at a time, whereas the LIVE mde displays all the screens simultaneusly. 10 www.analgway.cm
New Cue Sequencer: this new versin integrates a brand new cue sequencer with enhanced functinalities. It cmes with a built-in editr t easily create and edit cue sequences as well as a new player t cntrl the playback f a sequence. The number f cues in a sequence was increased t 128. Several types f cues are available (mstly based n Web RCS shrtcuts). Fr a better readability and understanding, cues can be gruped int cue stacks (up t ten). In the EDIT and LIVE tabs, the screen label is displayed in the selectin buttn: the screen label, entered in the SETUP>PRECONFIG>SCREEN menu, is available in the EDIT and LIVE tabs. The Web RCS envirnment is managed with the new Visual Settings feature: It is nw pssible t save the visual setting: Save saves the Visual Settings, Cancel relads the latest saved cnfiguratin and Reset sets the settings t the default values. A 4K 30Hz input frmat can nw be used with an internal rate abve 30Hz: this limitatin is ver. It is nw pssible t use a 4K30p signal with a 60Hz internal rate. Reset Image Settings feature is nw accessible thrugh a buttn in the input settings panel: it is pssible t reset the Image Settings f an input directly frm its setting panel. Better Native Backgrund management fr screen using 4K utputs: the psitin f the frame/input can be adjusted. Bug fixes Bursts f T-bar mdificatins using TPP prtcl may rebt the device: sending t many T-Bars values with the Third Party prtcl may rebt the LiveCre TM unit. When linking tw units, Dual Frames are nt displayed crrectly n the mnitring utput f the slave device: this prblem was caused by a bad cmmunicatin between the master unit and the slave unit. When linking tw units, the layer mvements n the utputs f the slave device are nt synchrnized with thse n the utputs f the master unit: this prblem was caused by a bad cmmunicatin between the master unit and the slave unit. When linking tw units, in the Setting panel f the utputs #6 and #8, the Output Digital Mde cntrl (HDMI/DVI) has n effect n the Slave utput: this prblem was caused by a bad cmmunicatin between the master unit and the slave unit. Smetimes, when the device rate is frame-lcked t an input, the utputs may nt deliver any signal: when bth the reference input frmat and the utput frmat were HDTV, the frame-lck prcess didn t wrk and the utput didn t deliver any signal. Frame-lcking the device internal rate t a 4K 30Hz input desn t wrk: The reference 4K 30Hz input signal was described as invalid. The input EDID preferred frmat list is nt prperly filled depending f the input plug type (Dual, 4K cmpliant ): sme input frmats were prpsed as EDID preferred frmat fr a plug in spite f the fact this plug culdn t supprt them. 13 www.analgway.cm
Input RGsB cmputer signals are nt recgnized and centered prperly: due t bad analysis f the cmpsite sync, the RGsB (SOG) signals were nt detected prperly and the active area was nt centered prperly because f a blanking shift. The frnt panel HMI may send cmmands n the Prgram instead f Preview: A bad analysis f the internal T-bar psitin applies changes t the Prgram instead f the Preview. The SETUP>BLENDING page is nt updated accrding t utput psitin changes in the screen: when changing the psitin f an utput in the screen (SETUP>PRECONFIG>SCREENS), the blending page shuld be updated accrdingly. An Invalid utput frmat warning is raised n the Web RCS althugh this utput is disabled: a disabled utput shuldn t generate a warning message. A nasty seam clumn appears when crpping a dual frame: when crpping a dual frame in the SETUP> LOGO> FRAMEx>CROPPING menu, a scratched cntent appeared. On the EDIT/LIVE>MONITORING page, the number f displayed resurces is nt refreshed prperly when the widget surce is mdified: depending f the surce assigned t the widget, the number f used resurces shuld be updated. Dual inputs are nt handled prperly when they are unplugged: smetimes it is nt pssible t recver the input. The cntent displayed by analg vide utputs is crpped: in spite f the fact the utput frmat was generated prperly, the cntent was crpped (ne line missing at the bttm, and a few pixel clumn n the right side). The cntent was displayed prperly n the digital utput. On the Web RCS, the layer cntent is nt refreshed prperly when the lg/frame resurce is empty: the utput layer was updated prperly, but the Web RCS preview snapsht f the frmer surce was still present. Crrected. On the Web RCS, when switching selectin frm Prgram t Preview, the Layer status related cntrls are nt refreshed: sme prperties in the right side panel are nt updated prperly. It shuld nt be pssible t activate the Dual buttn when uplading an image as a lg: the dual prperty shuld nly be available fr frames. In the SETUP>PRECONFIG>SCREENS menu, drpping an utput ver itself n the Unused Outputs sectin causes the utput t disappear: this was an HMI bug (wrkarunds were: cming back and frth t the menu r simply restarting the Web RCS). In the screen cnfiguratin, Lad template desn t wrk if the utputs are in the Unused Outputs area: lading a template was nt wrking as the utputs in the Unused Output sectin were nt assigned t the screens. Restrictins 4K utputs cannt be rtated. 2048x1152 utput frmat cannt be rtated. N dual link utput frmat available n slave mnitring utput: when linking t LiveCre units tgether, it was nt pssible t select a dual-link frmat n the mnitring utput f the slave device. Input Aspect rati is nt managed in a cnfidence screen: the input aspect rati was nt applied when a surce was displayed in a cnfidence mnitr. 1920x1080p Input DisplayPrt signal is smetimes seen as a 3840x1080p signal: 1080p frmats were smetimes nt detected prperly by the DisplayPrt inputs.
