The oening 11 bars should take aroximately 5 seconds each. This is at the discretion o the conductor and does not need to be exact. The wind layers make a shhh sound to create ambiance. The black note-heads indicate a click o the tongue. Perormers should translate that sound as they lease (within reason) in order to create an otherworldly and suernatural sound. The conductor should initiate the tongue-click down the center o the band and the erormers are to rile rom the center oint to the edges to create a sense o moving sound on stage. Immediately ater clicking the erormers should resuming the shhh at iano. These methods should be alied to measure 99 as well. At 35 the instrumentalists should blow audibly through their instruments, creating a whooshing sound without sounding their horn. At Lurking a tyical beat begins. Some layers will hiss at orte beore ading out to nothingness. The trumets and horns at 40 are the irst to lay a boxed-notation igure. They should execute the given notes in the given order while accelerating rom slow to a ast lurry. Each erormer does this at their own ace which should continue the otherworldly eel. The saxes and vibrahone at measure 38 execute the same boxed notation, with the correct itches in the correct order, however acing is not seciied, simly the text mysterious. The erormers can choose any seed they like as long as it doesn t interere with the other textures (again at the discretion o the conductor). Dynamics should be ollowed. Starting at measure 128 the low winds and low brass are instructed to their long held note this means decrescendoing to nothing, taking a breath, and crescendoing back to the aroriate dynamic while another layer holds their itch. Deending on the size o the ensemble this can mean stagger breathing within a section o multile layers, or between instrumental grous as able in the set-u o the ensemble. At measure 176, much o the ensemble is marked with the same boxed notation with the descritor increasingly chaotic. While maintaining a good sound, laying the right notes, and ollowing the seciied dynamics, the erormer can translate this however they choose. I able, erormers can utilize some extended techniques such as lutter tonguing i aroriate. It should be stressed that at the beginning o the igure the chaos should be minimal, so that by the end o the 6 bars, chaos can rage on. Transosing Score
