Installation Electrical Installation WARNING!!! Risk of fire and electric shock. This product is to be installed by a qualified electrician only. Ensure that the AC power is switched off before attempting to make any wiring connections. This fixture employs a grounded type receptacle and is not intended for connection to a two-wire, ungrounded source of supply. To avoid the chance of product damage or malfunction, disconnect power before connecting wires, and do not connect or disconnect cables (supply, data, lamps and interface cables) when voltage is supplied to the luminaire. Mains Voltage: 120-277VAC. (unit must be direct switching mains only, not via a dimmer system). When installing this fixture use wire conductor colour codes as follows: Brown - Phase, live Blue - Neutral, return Green/Yellow - Earth Notes: 1. For ceiling rose models minimum 60 C supply conductors to be used. 2. Track adapter variants are only to be fitted to approved and compatible track systems. Wing LED Applications The Wing range has been designed to meet demanding quality light level applications such as museums and galleries multiple units are required to obtain a visually even wash of light. Recommended spacing of luminaires is to have the luminaires at equal spacing to the distance from the wall. For example if the luminaires are 1.5m away from the wall the optimum spacing between the luminaires for an even wash of light would also be 1.5m. For optimum light distribution the Wing has been designed to be installed at a 45deg nominal angle as indicated. Ambient Operating Temperature: -10 C to 40 C To guarantee product lifetime, the user should ensure that the ambient temperature remains within the recommended temperature range. The Wing RGB LED Wall Washer is a high power LED product with high optical output. Operators of the LED modules should not look directly into the beam of the light source (especially not with magnifiers or similar optical instruments) as this may cause damage to the eyes. Further information relating to the lux levels, luminaire spacings and IES/ILUMUDAT files can be found at www.seleconlight.com/ies and www.seleconlight.com/ilumudat 6of17

Pan and Tilt Adjustment Adjusting the pan angle Release the set screw above the joint (as shown) and adjust accordingly. Relock after adjustment. Adjusting the tilt angle The tilt can be adjusted by unlocking the hex screw located as shown. Re-lock after adjustment. Accessory Installation Barndoor To install the barndoor, first hook it in to the slots on the front face and swing the barndoor up. Secure the barndoor with the two hex screws in the barndoor. Tighten these using a 3mm allen key until they are secure. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN as this causes undue stresses in the parts. Secure barndoor here. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN. Colour Frame The colour frame slots in between the barndoor and the front of the Wing LED luminaire. Note: the barndoor accessory is required if you wish to use a colour frame in the Wing LED as the barndoor creates the slot to hold the colour frame. 7of17

Control The Wing RGB LED Wall Washer can be controlled using either DMX or DALI protocol. DMX512 Units ordered with DMX control will be fitted with XLR5 in/out connectors. Basic DMX512 installation consists of connecting multiple Wing RGB LED Wall Washer luminaires together in daisy-chain fashion. An XLR5 cable is run from the control console (or alternative DMX control source) to the XLR5 male/input connector on the first luminaire. The following units are then connected out/in using the female/out XLR5 connector on the unit linking to the male/input XLR5 connector on the next, and so on. DMX Installation Wiring In order to ensure stable network communications, it is recommended that the DMX cable should be terminated with a 110 Ohm resistor between the Data+ and Data- wires at the end of the cable run. This prevents DMX signal reflections back to the DMX controller. Please refer to the diagram on the left for a typical DMX wiring configuration. To avoid the chance of product damage or malfunction, disconnect power before connecting wires, and do not connect or disconnect cables (supply, data, lamps and interface cables) when voltage is supplied to the LED driver or LED module. DMX Addressing The default address for the Wing RGB LED Wall Washer is 001. The individual luminaire DMX address can be set by using an RDM controller (parameter ID DMX_START_ADDRESS ) (see the Supported RDM Parameters section on pages 12 & 13) We recommend using the Philips Entertainment DMX Fix Tool/RDM Controller (Order Code 75851), available from your Philips Entertainment dealer. The luminaire requires between 2 to 10 DMX addresses, depending on the DMX personality. The DMX Personalities table (page 9) summarizes the DMX data assignment for each DMX personality. 8of17

DMX personalities There are two categories of DMX operation Static and Dynamic. Within these two categories, there is a subset of DMX personalities of operation. The default DMX personality for the Wing LED RGB is Static RGB, described in the Static DMX Personalities section. The DMX personality can be set by using an RDM controller (described in the DMX-RDM Personality section) Please refer to the DMX Personalities table, below, for the description of the DMX personalities. 9of17

Static DMX Personalities Refer to the DMX personalities table for the specific DMX byte assignment for each DMX personality a. Static RGB (3 DMX channels) This DMX personality utilises the most widely understood method of specifying chromaticity with LED-based luminaires, and is recommended for applications where both colour and white chromaticity points (e.g., 2700K- 6500K white, red, green, blue, cyan, magenta, yellow) are specified. This personality can be used to generate white points (ie specific CCT values) however this will be less accurate compared to using the CCT DMX personality. A table of RGB to CCT conversion values is required for this. 10of17

b. Static XY (3 DMX channels) This DMX personality enables the user to specify the (x,y) colour coordinates colour and intensity. There are 3 channels of output available for the DMX controller, one for the x coordinate, one for the y coordinate and one for intensity from 0% - 100% c. Static CCT (2 DMX channels) This DMX personality is recommended for applications where only white chromaticity points are specified. There are 2 channels of output available for the DMX controller, one for CCT value within the range of 2700K 6500K and the other for intensity from 0% - 100%. Dynamic DMX Personalities The following dynamic DMX personalities are available. (Refer to the DMX Personalities table for the specific DMX byte assignment for each DMX personality.) There are 3 main benefits for the dynamic DMX personalities: 1. Flexibility The user can program a DMX scene with different DMX inputs with minimal effort. (For example, one can achieve a rainbow wash comprising both saturated (RGB) colours and CCT white points by using the dynamic RGB and dynamic CCT DMX personality, by adjusting the 7 DMX offset bytes.) 2. Controllability The user can control the master intensity level and the fade times without the use of sophisticated 3rd party DMX control software/hardware. (For example, one easily adjusts the master intensity level for multiple Wing RGB LED Wall Washer units connected to the DMX network by adjusting the appropriate DMX byte values.) 3. Accuracy / Resolution For the dynamic CCT, xy and u v DMX personalities, 2 bytes are used to control the desired colour/white points compared to just 1 byte in the static DMX personalities. DALI The Digital Addressable Lighting Interface (DALI) is a digital protocol for controlling lighting components, such as electronic ballasts and dimmers, in buildings. Please refer to the diagram below for a typical DALI wiring configuration: 11of17

Remote Device Management (RDM) RDM is currently an open standard in development. This is an enhancement to USITT DMX512 for configuration, status monitoring, and the management of DMX512 based systems. This standard was developed by the ESTA Technical Standards Program and is designed for interoperability between a number of manufacturers. The Wing RGB LED Wall Washer system is RDM Compliant. RDM is mainly used in commissioning and service operations, whereas DMX512 is mainly used as the controlling protocol. The RDM Utility of the Wing RGB LED Wall Washer can be used to retrieve and modify properties for Wing RGB LED Wall Washer modules. 12of17

1) Responders and Controllers identify themselves with a 48-bit Unique ID (UID). The Unique ID (UID) consists of a 16-bit ESTA assigned Manufacturer ID with a 32-bit Device ID 2) The Parameter ID is a 16-bit number that identifyes a specific type of Parameter Data 13of17

RDM dimming curve The factory default setting is the square law dimming curve. It is strongly recommended that the dimming curve be kept at the default factory setting, because the square law matches very closely with the human response. The following table summarizes the available options: Service and Maintenance Philips Selecon has manufactured this luminaire in accordance with recognised best practices to recommended international safety standards. It is your responsibility to maintain this luminaire in good and safe working condition. The light emitting region on the front of the Wing RGB LED Wall Washer should be kept free from dirt, grease and other contaminants in order maintain optimal performance. Use only a soft, dry, lint-free cloth to clean the optics. Never use cleaning solvents as these may damage the optics. The above are the only maintenance tasks that can be safely carried out by non-approved personnel. For all other service and maintenance issues, please contact your Philips Selecon dealer. Repairs should only be carried out by suitably qualified persons. Do not operate the luminaire with damaged cable, track adapters etc. Only replace damaged parts with authorised spares. End-of-life behaviour Unlike typical conventional light sources, LEDs are not subject to sudden failure or burnout. There is no time at which the light source will cease to function. Instead, the performance of LEDs shows gradual degradation over time. When used according to specification, Wing RGB LED modules are predicted to deliver an average of 70% of their initial intensity after 35,000 hours operation. The life of the system is therefore more dependent on the other electronic system components and soldering methods. Upgradeable The simple modular configuration of the Wing RGB LED Wall Washer units this allows the units to be easily upgraded. As LED technology improves there higher performance modules will become available. These will be easy to swap in to the Wing LED units in order to upgrade them to the best possible version available without having to purchase a whole new unit. System disposal At the end of their (economic) lifetime, appropriate disposal of the Wing RGB LED Wall Washer unit, and it s components, is recommended. The modules are basically normal pieces of electronic equipment containing components that at present are not considered to be harmful to the environment and that can be disposed of with normal care. It is therefore recommended to dispose of these parts as normal electronic waste, according to local regulations. 14of17
