Since 2016, Maestro Fabio Luisi has been the Principal Conductor of the Danish National Symphony Orchestra, which is particularly renowned for its Carl Nielsen interpretations and its special affinity with Danish and Nordic music. At this year s Classical:NEXT, we look forward to meeting new and existing partners of the Danish National Symphony Orchestra as well as spreading the word about our Malko Competition for young conductors, taking place in DR Koncerthuset (Copenhagen) in the spring of 2018.

The agency administers the financial support provided for artists and artistic activities by the Danish state. The support is mainly granted by the Danish Arts Foundation. The agency also manages cultural exchange between Denmark and foreign countries in the field of literature, music, performing arts and visual arts. We work to support, promote and raise the profile of Danish music internationally by coordinating the Danish presence at international music and cultural events abroad.
