CHICAGO SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA RICCARDO MUTI ZELL MUSIC DIRECTOR GROUP SERVICES GUIDE 2018/19 CSO.ORG 312-294-3040

A tour to Chicago would not be complete without a visit to hear the world-renowned. Our groups rave about their experience, and it s always a highlight of their tour. Todd Rogers, Vice President of Sales, Bob Rogers Travel Working with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra Group Sales is such a breeze! The variety of different seating options makes it possible to fit any group s budget. I ve sent dozens of groups ranging from 30 to 200 plus, and I ve received nothing but glowing reviews. Hearing world-class musicians in such a beautiful venue creates a memory that no one will ever forget. Every group that comes to Chicago should see the! Brendan Hartigan, Destination Specialist, WorldStrides OnStage Programs The CSO was awesome. My students were in awe not just of the musicians, but also the hall, the friendly people and the singing, which was glorious. We all owe you a debt of gratitude for making it possible for us to hear the Symphony and for the quality of our tickets. This was a first-class experience all the way, and we have you to thank for it. AJ Hartman, Lawton High School, MI Symphony Center is the perfect venue for your group outing. Experience the incomparable, the greatest artists in jazz or the joy of a holiday concert. With over 200 concerts each season, you re sure to find something to thrill your group. We offer special group rates, flexible payment terms and exceptional, personalized service. Tickets sell quickly, so plan your group purchase early for the best concert and seating options. Ordering is easy: 1. Select your concert(s) 2. Estimate your group size 3. Call 312-294-3040 or toll-free at 800-223-7114 Monday through Friday 10:00 5:00 CSO.ORG/GROUPS 312-294-3040 3

Frequently Asked Questions What is the minimum group size? Groups of 10 or more can take advantage of all of the services of the Group Services department. Ticket discounts are available for groups of 20 or more for most concerts. What time should my group arrive? We suggest arriving 30 minutes prior to concert time. Group members should have their tickets in hand. What kinds of group discounts are offered? Groups of 20 or more people receive generous discounts to many concerts at Symphony Center. The exact amount of the discount depends on the performance selected and ticket availability. Is a deposit required? After your group has been assigned seats, we request a 15% nonrefundable deposit to hold those seats. The deposit, payable by check or major credit card, will be applied toward your total balance. When is the final payment due? The remaining balance of your order is due 60 days prior to the concert date. The final payment may be made with a check or a major credit card. What about handling fees? We charge only $15 for the entire order. Can I change my order? Yes! Group orders can be adjusted until the time of final payment. After paying the deposit, however, you are contracted to purchase at least 80% of the original ticket quantity. How far in advance can I make a request? If you can select a date, we can take a request. Even if the concert season has yet to be announced, we ll take a request based on the date you d like to come. Advance ordering is the key to securing good seats! Will my group be assigned seats when I make a request? Assigned seating depends on the time of year during which you call. Our concert season is usually announced in February. Although we can take a request for seats at any time, we cannot confirm seating until late summer. At that time, seating requests will be filled in the order in which they were received. Any order received after that time will be quoted exact seats right over the phone. Can my group sit together? We will make every possible effort to seat all group members together. Unfortunately, this is not always possible. The further in advance you make reservations, the better we can accommodate your seating requests! How do I get my tickets? After you complete your group s final payment, we will mail your tickets to you. Where is Symphony Center? Symphony Center is located on Chicago s Cultural Mile at 220 South Michigan Avenue, across the street from the Art Institute. See cso.org/about/resources for maps and directions. Is there motor coach parking? The closest legal motor coach parking location is at 420 South Franklin Street. Motor coach parking is also available at 1200 South Canal Street, 631 West Kinzie Street and at the Museum Campus. Is photography allowed at Symphony Center? Patrons are welcome to use their smartphones to take photos of their visit to Symphony Center and share them on their social media networks. However, we strictly enforce a no photo/no video policy during the performance itself. Before the music starts, we ask that you put your smartphone away for the duration of the program. Smartphones, cameras and other recording devices can create major distractions for the performers and audience members around you. All camera and video equipment should be checked with the house manager prior to entering the auditorium. What else can my group do while in Chicago? Symphony Center is conveniently located in the heart of downtown Chicago. You ll be close to world-famous shopping on the Magnificent Mile and beyond, delicious dining options, the city s Museum Campus, the Art Institute of Chicago and many other attractions. Please visit cso.org/groups for restaurant and hotel recommendations as well as directions to Symphony Center. Visit cso.org/about/resources for seating charts. terrace lower balcony gallery upper balcony box seats Are there any age restrictions for the concerts?
