Just the Beginning! Let s go back in time, back to March 1, 1994. On this rainy Tuesday morning in London, Ontario, Canada at the local St. Joseph s Hospital Pattie Mallette holds her newborn son for the very first time. Little did she know that one day he would steal the hearts of many teenage girls and become one of the world s most popular music artists. This was just the beginning of the long journey of Justin Bieber s rise to fame!
Justin s Childhood! Justin Drew Bieber was the son of Pattie Mallette and Jeremy Bieber. Pattie, who was only eighteen, knew that when Justin was born her life would change forever. Instead of going out with friends, she had the responsibility of taking care of Justin. She knew that it wouldn t be easy being a teen mom because she knew that babies took a lot of hard work, care and had to be given a lot of attention. Pattie didn t really know what the future had in store for her at the time. When Justin was only ten months old problems between her and Justin s dad occurred and they split apart. This just left her with Justin. This was a
rough time in Justin s life because Justin didn t always have what he has today. The only support they had was his grandparents, and they didn t have much money either. So, Pattie soon had to turn to going to food banks just to be able to feed Justin. When Justin was around three or four he began to develop his passion for singing and playing instruments. When Pattie would have friends over they would bring their guitars and things and Justin would strum on the guitar and sing while doing so. Justin also started banging on chairs, and everyone thought and told Pattie that he had great timing and rhythm, but Pattie didn t really think much of it. Soon they got Justin a little set of plastic drums so he could bang around on for a few years. He soon grew out
of it, and he was ready to move up to a bigger set. So, they decided to have a small benefit concert to raise money for a set. At the benefit concert Justin played jazz, which was very difficult for his age, but the project was a success and he raised enough money to buy a set of pearl drums. Justin just kept training himself, and he was getting better and better everyday. Stratford Star! When Justin was around twelve and thirteen his passion for singing was getting to where he wanted to perform for big groups of people. He started out playing at the Avon theatre, but soon wanted to compete in the local Stratford Star competition. Pattie told Justin that he might not win since he hadn t ever had singing
lessons, and that to not get upset. Justin performed his heart out singing songs like Aretha Franklin s Respect and Ne- Yo s So Sick. He kept performing song after song until he found himself in the final three. Justin placed second, and considering that he had never had lessons before and his age that was an awesome win!
A YouTube Sensation! When Justin was performing at the Stratford star competition, Pattie had video taped him because his family couldn't make it to the competition and really wanted to see it. So, Pattie uploaded the videos on YouTube and made Justin an account. He was known as kidrauhl and this is because his father was lordrauhl. Soon, Justin had random people liking and commenting on his videos. The more videos that were posted, the more fans that came. They were asking for more videos and requesting him to do song after song. So, soon Justin had uploaded tons of videos and gained thousands of fans, but he wasn't famous just yet.
The Discovery of Justin Bieber! Justin s videos on YouTube were getting more popular by the day. One day a guy named Scooter Braun was on YouTube and found videos of Justin singing. He watched video after video of Justin and soon became obsessed with him. So, Scooter tried everything he could to reach Justin. He even called the school! Finally he got a hold of Pattie, and they talked for over three hours. Scooter told Pattie that he would fly Justin out to Atlanta to meet up with some producers. At first everyone was saying no, but finally he met up with Usher and he got Justin signed with Island Def Jam.
Here and Now! Justin has accomplished so many things over the years, including completing around 8 albums and has been nominated and received hundreds of awards. Justin has taken the world by storm and infected many with Bieber Fever!
