RBC Theatre This stunning theatre space can be adapted for multiple uses. As a performance space it can be used with traditional theatre-style seating accommodating up to 310 people, with in-the-round seating accommodating up to 382 people, or with cabaret-style seating accommodating up to 250 people with in-theatre food and beverage service. When using RBC Theatre for seminars or lectures up to 310 people can be accommodated. When the theatre seats are retracted the room provides a spectacular and intimate setting for social functions such as banquets or weddings for groups of up to 200 guests. With professional lighting and sound systems this venue helps create the perfect atmosphere for any performance, event or function. Theatre Specifications Stage Dimensions The theatre is a multi-use space with two principal set-ups. One set-up uses a bleacher seating system. The other set-up has the seating system retracted and covered with red velour drapes. Backstage Facilities Loading Dock The Loading Dock is located on the west side of the Living Arts Centre building, on Living Arts Drive. It is Upstage Right, 30 from the stage. The Loading Dock features: 2 truck-level covered loading docks with auto-levellers 1 street-level loading door Docks can accommodate 53 (16.2m) semi-trailers Doors that are 12 (3.7m) wide x 12 (3.7m) high 200 amp 3-phase 208 volt electrical panel for shore power (notice is required for tie in ) A Freight elevator 11 6 (3.5m) deep x 6 6 (2.0m) wide x 9 6 (2.9m) tall Dressing Rooms All dressing rooms at the Living Arts Centre have program sound. Some rooms may have outside phone lines that are available on request. Rolling clothing racks are also available on request. All rooms are wheelchair accessible. The following rooms are available to RBC Theatre users: 2 Four-person Dressing Rooms behind the stage 2 Eight-person Dressing rooms in the basement 1 Performers Lounge Wardrobe Maintenance Room with washing machine, dryer, sewing machine and steamer. The wardrobe room is located within the Hammerson Hall backstage area. o Please note: Nasco crew member is required to access this space Safety Rules 1. All visiting technical personnel who wish to use a personnel lift will be required to wear a full harness connected to the lift and be properly trained in the use of the lift. This stipulation is consistent with Occupational Health and Safety regulations - there will be no exception to this rule at any time. 2. When the NASCO crew are on a break, no work or rehearsal may continue on the stage. During meal breaks, all stage and work lights will be turned off. 3. In the event of fire alarm or other emergency, all visiting technical personnel and artists are to take direction from the LAC technical director specifically in regards to fire regulations, policies and procedures. 4. Appendix Labour Agreement 1. The LAC uses NASCO exclusively for the provision of labour to perform the services set out below. 2. The term labour means all of the work usually performed by stagehands as required for handling, erecting, dismantling, preparing, maintaining, and operating sets, scenery, properties, sound equipment, video equipment, lights and lighting equipment and machinery of all kinds such as forklifts, as well as the unpacking, packing, cleaning, pressing, dressing, maintaining and quick changing of theatrical costumes, as required, and set up and tear down of all temporary event related facility services including, floor seating, the hanging of banners, display booth set up etc. as well as all activities in connection with: Any entertainment, rehearsal, performance and displays in Hammerson Hall, Royal Bank Theatre and Rogers Theatre, which includes the main performance stage, secondary stages, either permanent or temporary All work usually performed by stage employees in the LAC that is required in connection with television productions, closed circuit television, film projection, filming and film production work for both theatrical and television presentation which are produced or executed within the LAC Labour Calls 1. The time of call is at the discretion of the on-duty LAC Technical Director and no work will commence before the time of call unless prior approval is given. 2. Calls that relate to the actual performance or event taking place start no less than thirty minutes before the opening of auditorium doors to the public. 3. The LAC can cancel a call by notifying NASCO s designated on-site representative at least twenty-four hours before the scheduled start time of the call. Failure to cancel twenty-four hours before the scheduled start of a call will result in the client having to pay a fee that is equivalent to the minimum work call of four hours, charged at the straight time rate, for all labour scheduled for the call. 4. Hours of Work Labour supplied between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and midnight will be charged at the straight time rate, except where labour supplied is required to work in excess of eight hours in a single day, or 44 hours in a week; in which case supplied labour will be charged at one and one-half times the straight time rate for the duration of the work period except when double time applies. Time worked will be calculated by the half-hour. The fee for all supplied labour will be calculated to include a full half-hour if any portion of a half-hour period is worked. All work performed between the hours of midnight and 2:00 a.m., and between 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. will be charged at one and one-half times (1.5 x) the straight time rate. All work performed between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. will be charged at double (2.0 x) the straight time rate. 10 /11 RBC Theatre Technical Information Updated: October 2017

If a crew member is recalled to work and the duration of that person s break exceeds two hours, the charge for the person to return to work is a minimum four hours of work. When a crew member is called in to work they are paid for a minimum of four hours of work. All labour supplied for the purpose of load out, is subject to the minimum work call of four hours charged at the straight time rate except where this labour has already been required to work in excess of eight hours in a single day. If the load out exceeds four hours, the charge will be at the prevailing rate. Labour supplied on Statutory Holidays is charged at 1.5 times the straight time rate for the duration of the work call except when double time applies. Statutory holidays include New Years Day, Family Day, Good Friday, Victoria Day, Canada Day, Civic Holiday, Labour Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, any other day proclaimed by the Federal or Provincial authority as a public holiday. 5. Labour supplied is entitled to a meal break approximately once every four hours not to exceed once every five hours. Either of the following is defined as a meal break : One unbroken, unpaid hour within which a meal may be eaten. One unbroken, paid half-hour within which a meal may be eaten and for which food and beverage is supplied for all persons affected by the half-hour break. 6. Supplied labour is entitled to a break approximately midway though a scheduled work period that is the equivalent of 5 minutes for each hour of the scheduled work call to a maximum of 15 minutes. 11 /11 RBC Theatre Technical Information Updated: October 2017
