Number of Print materials Reports Collection Statistics Summary AMTR Report For Destiny Users Circulation Tab will give the stats you need Each Dewey # and Call number prefix will have a number to the far right Add up the numbers from the sections that are print materials. Be sure to count Reference sets and Encyclopedias as one title. Include Professional Collection (but if you have class sets of professional books, count them as one title as you do Reference sets. ) DO NOT include SIR titles, videos, EQU, etc. include only Print materials. A good estimate of Reference and Multiple copies is fine. Do NOT spend hours finding the exact totals.
Include total ebooks in your collection totals. Percentage of print and digital (ER) titles in your collection Using this same Dewey Statistics report, subtract the number of ebooks from your books total in your collection. Divide this number by the total number of books in your collection to get the percentage of print books in your collection. For percentage of digital titles, divide the number of ebooks by the total number of books in your collection. The total of these two should equal 100%. NOTE: The percentages noted in the collection statistics report is for your ENTIRE COLLECTION including videos, equipment, etc. That is why you must manually figure these percentages. Average age Same area as above. Click on the average age tab Add up the average age for Print materials and divide by the number of areas that have print materials. Make note of special prefixes (such as GL, TI, NC, etc.) that should be included in this average age statistic. DO not include SIR titles, videos, EQU, etc. Just include print and ebook materials
Average age of Non-Fiction That number is given in the Average age column of the ten Dewey sections. Add together. Do not include Fiction, Easy, Professional, Reference, SIR, videos, EQU, etc. Include only nonfiction circulating to students materials. Next, determine the average age of your nonfiction ebooks. For your nonfiction ebooks, you will have to do an EXTRACT of all your titles with an ER prefix. Limit the extract by call number ER 000 to ER 999. Drop the extract into excel and average the publication year column using the function button. If you are not sure how to do an extract, call Elisha. ADD together the ebook nonfiction average age and the ten Dewey sections. Divide by 11. How many books were purchased this year Check the tally sheet that you should have set up at the beginning of year. OR count the titles on purchase orders Or you can run a report which will have to be dropped into excel and manipulated. * see instructions at the end of the document. Do include Book Fair bonus bucks books as purchased. Do include professional and reference books. DO NOT include donations or books given to your school from Central Office. DO NOT include SIR, videos, equipment, etc. Note: Every time you touched a MARC record, it records it as new so. Most media coordinaotrs keep a log of new books purchased (excel spreadsheet?) or create a Resource List of purchased materials as well. Your category of New Books 2014-2015 MAY include donated books so try to have a good estimate of books purchased this year.
How many books discarded from your school this year Check the tally sheet you should have set up at the beginning of year. OR IF you used the weeding log properly to count those items that were actually discarded, you can use that number. Reports Weeding Log You can include books lost as well as those weeded. What is the average weekly circulation of materials from your school Media Center Go to Circulation Library Info- Statistics View statistics for the last XX Months. Choose the number of months school has been in session and select months. The next box will show you the circulation totals for each month
Add those up and divide by the number of weeks. This will show you the average weekly circulation. Be sure to Include the month of June in the Stats even though June is still ongoing. June stats will have to be estimated. Then go to your Follett shelf AND your Mackin shelf. Log in with your administrator login. (email Yvette or Elisha if you have forgotten yours). Run a Circulation Usage Statistics report and determine total circulations for Follett ebooks and one for Mackin Via shelf for the same time period. ADD the ebooks circulation totals to the Destiny circulation totals and divide by the number of weeks. e.g. total circulation for last 10 months. Divided by the number of weeks - equals average weekly circulation
Our WSFCS Research Model is Big6. If you use another one in addition to Big6, please list it. EXTENDED HOURS for access to media center. Say Yes ONLY IF YOU are open at least 30 minutes BEFORE school for STUDENT USE of computers and checkout and/or 30 minutes AFTER THE BUSES LEAVE. Say No if you are closed to students or if you only have tutoring or Compass credit recovery in the media center. Say no if you or your media assistant are not there offering your services as well as access to computers and circulating collection. Sort on Call number. Eliminate SIR/Videos/EQU items. Those left will be the count of the items added to your Media Center for this year s AMTR. They MAY include donations so estimate how many donations and subtract that from this total.
