DISTRIBUTION StudioCanal, the new channel wholly dedicated to cinema is available from Bell and Vidéotron Stingray Music is now available in Thailand from the operator True Visions. The Portuguese TV pack (Bouquet Portugais) is available from Salt in Switzerland. HIGHLIGHT The beginning of the school term was also intense for Nollywood TV with the return of the «JENIFA S DIARY» series. Just like a rock star, the brand new season of Jenifa s Diary went on tour. After Cameroon and Benin during the summer, there were previews of a couple of episodes on the Ivory Coast (13 Sept), in Senegal, and the DRC and Gabon between 12 and 20 October. STUDIES OCTOBER 2018 NOVEMBER 2018 THEMA CARRIED OUT RESEARCH ON THE DISTRIBUTION OF PORTUGUESE, SPANISH AND RUSSIAN PEOPLE IN SWITZERLAND Key figures: The Portuguese community is the 3 rd largest foreign community in Switzerland (273K). The number of Spanish inhabitants is up 31% since 2010 (85.7K). There are not many Russians, who are only the 27 th largest community in Switzerland (16.2K). THEMA CARRIED OUT RESEARCH ON THE IMPORTANCE OF MUSEUMS AND HOW MANY MUSEUM VISITS THERE ARE IN QUEBEC Key figures: More than 400 museums are listed in Quebec, 22% of which are art museums.
MARKETING ACTIONS The channels Stingray iconcerts and Stingray CMusic were partners for the Letofest event which took place in the Czech Republic from June to September. INSIGHT / SK BROADBAND The Korean operator SK Broadband showcased the Insight channel on its VOD interface for 1 month. MUSEUM / ROSTELECOM A contest was run by the Museum channel and the Russian operator Rostelecom during the months of September and October.
COMMUNICATION CAMPAIGNS NOLLYWOOD AND THE AFRICAN TV PACK WERE SHOWCASED TO CELEBRATE THE AFRIQUE UNIS (UNITED AFRICA) SHOW WHICH TOOK PLACE ON 3RD NOVEMBER IN PARIS The last THEMA s newsletter mentioned a competition run in collaboration with Firat Celik, one of the actors from the FATMAGÜL series. The grand prize-winner met the actor and dined at his restaurant, the other winners in France, Guadeloupe, Martinique and Haiti won Novelas TV kits filled with goodies and the winners in French-speaking Africa won Iroko+ passes for one to three months. ALSO, A NEW TV AD FOR THE AFRICAN TV PACK (BOUQUET AFRICAIN) WAS BROADCAST ON AFRICA NO. 1 FROM 1ST TO 6TH NOVEMBER. COMMUNICATION CAMPAIGNS To celebrate the launch of the STUDIOCANAL channel with Bell and Videotron, the channel became a partner for the Canadian preview of the film «Le Grand Bain» with Cinemania on 5th November. The Cinemania festival was held from 1 to 11 November in selected theaters across Montreal. IN THE MONTH OF SEPTEMBER, PLANETE+ SHOWCASED THE SERIES «EXODUS: OUR JOURNEY TO EUROPE», ON FACEBOOK. SEASONS WAS TOP OF THE BILL IN «AVENTURE CHASSE ET PECHE» AND «SENTIER CHASSE-PECHE» IN THE MONTH OF OCTOBER. Upper left: The Teleinforme magazine published an article and an advertisement page about the Museum channel in their November issue, which will be distributed at the Acutel trade show in Spain. Up: An advertisement page and an interview with Museum s general director were published in the Teleinforme magazine of this year s MIPCOM in October. EXHIBITIONS MIPCOM As usual, the THEMA team was at the annual MIPCOM that took place in Cannes from 15th to 18th October this year. At the occasion, the website Cineytele published an article. Click here to read it. CCSA The THEMA CANADA teams were at the Canadian Communication Systems Alliance (CCSA) that took place in Cannes from 17 to 19 September 2018. THEMA DAY: BULGARIA THEMA ran a THEMA DAY in Bulgaria on 12th September 2018. DIGITAL THEMA was represented at the Digital Exhibition held in Serbia on the 6th and 7th of September 2018. COMING NEXT The THEMA team will be at ACUTEL, taking place in Granada (Spain) on 22 and 23 November. LICA THEMA was represented at LICA in the Czech Republic on 26th September 2018. For the occasion, a journalist from the site www.digitalniradio.cz wrote two articles about the Stingray CMusic and Stringray iconcerts channels as well as the Motorsport channel.
