A versatile digital receiver with a guaranteed future One of the advantages with is the flexible design. The receiver is equipped with a Common Interface and a card reader (embedded), for adding an access-system. This may for example be Viaccess, Conax, Cryptoworks or Irdeto. Another appreciated function is VBI-text, which allows text TV to be sent over the building net automatically. A future advantage is an upgradeable software package. It is easy to download new functions in coming from satellite or a PC. In order to increase reliability, all components have been selected with the greatest attention and each unit is individually tested before delivery. Important! Digital signals put great demands on the installation s LNB. Older microwave heads often exhibit an unsatisfactory phase noise value, which may reveal itself as a frozen picture or text. Therefore, always upgrade to new microwave heads when adding digital receivers. The gold-coloured interface on the card must point towards the front of the module. Insert the module with the programme card into the front of in the DVB/CI socket. In most cases, one side of the module is marked and this side should face the marking for the DVB/CI socket on the. CARD READER The right card reader is used for a downloaded (embedded) coding system, i.e. Conax and Viaccess. The card should be inserted with the gold coloured contact surface turned downwards inwards. If the programme card is not updated, the following message will appear on the TV screen: No subscription Important: When receiving free channels, Free To Air, the CA module must not be connected. CA modules for different coding systems can be obtained from the programme companies. OSD information on the programme card may differ, depending on the coding system being used. When the CAM should be removed the button for the DVB/CI socket should be used. 53 00983-4 ENG-1.p65 53
