As We Slee Ryan Meeboer This lyrical iece is to be considered a modern lullaby. It begins ith a eaceful feeling, and sloly builds into a beautiful, chorale-like section, reflecting the onderful dreams e have as e fall into our deeest slee. The clarinets are first to lay the main melody of the iece at measure 5. In measures 8 and 12, have the alto layers bring out the motion in their arts, as the melody comes to a rest. This ill allo the iece to continue its motion, and avoid the feel of hole note gas. The same ill haen in measures 16 and 20 in clarinet 2, alto saxohone 2, and the f horn. As the counter melody is introduced the the flute, oboe, and alto saxohone 1, in measure 13, be sure it doesn t comletely dominate, since it is meant to comliment the main melody erformed by the trumets. The iece dros slightly at measure 21, removing most of the instruments. Be sure that erformers continuing in this section remain confident and lay ith a clear, controlled tone. When the other arts enter at measure 25, again, be sure they come in ith solid sound, and the trumets ractice hitting the fourth sace E clearly and confidently. REVIEW As the oening melody returns at measure 29, one of your flute layers ill have the oortunity to shine. Since this is ne material, it should be clearly heard over the main melody, so the clarinets should kee their dynamics nice and soft.
