Infos Festival: www.gospelchor-w.info/festival/index.html Dear Festival Participants We are eagerly working on the organization of our 2nd International Choir Festival and are all enthusiastic about the coming event. Over 40 choirs and sing groups have registered which makes this festival the largest of its kind in Austria. Here are a few details regarding our schedule: ARRIVAL Motorway exit Wörgl direction Wörgl town centre, then follow the signs for the Wildschöanau at the traffic lights. Wildschönau Oberau Festival area, approx. 100m after the church which is on your left Hauptschule School again on your left after a double bend. REGISTRATION AT THE FESTIVAL OFFICE If you have problems due to a delay or are in need of directions please contact this telephone number for English speakers, +43 (0) 699 19993353, for German +43 (0) 650 5694339. Firstly register at the Festival Office, entrance hall of the school, it is sign posted ANMELDUNG: The Festival Office is always manned and will help in any way it can. Detailed information regarding your accommodation, the Festival, the village, about the workshops, tickets for food for registered participants, time plans etc., will be handed out to you. After you have everything you will go to your accommodation where you will receive your Wildschönau guest card and your room key. To ensure a quick and smooth check-in please fill in the group list from our Tourist Office, which you can print off from our website, this will enable us to fill in the relevant registration data in advance. We need the details of the group leader, to be completed in full, all the others only need their full names and date of birth. This information list can then be send per email to your hotel shortly before your arrival. With this your hotelier can prepare your Wildschönau guest card. You will find this form on our Festival website under downloads und info. für Teilnahmer, you can click on Gruppenliste zu Gästeblatt. This is the form that you must print out and fill in before your arrival. Side 1 / 5

Reisegruppe: fill in the name of your group. Ankunft an: the date of your arrival Abreise an: the date of your departure The group leader completes the first line in full. Your full name, country of citizenship, type of document, number and where it was issued. After that just everyone s full name and date of birth. CATERING A snack bar will be open from Friday to Sunday in the main Festival Hall. Breakfast is at your accommodation. Friday evening and Saturday lunch time choirs must organise their own meals. Small snacks are available in the main Festival Hall, at the Spar Supermarket, coffee houses, bars etc. There are Hotels which offer meals but should be booked in advance, (booking in advance has its advantages). If you have problems one of us will always be there to help. On SATURDAY EVENING from approx. 17.00 to 20.00 and SUNDAY LUNCH TIME from approx. 10.30 to 12.30, there will be food for registered guests, at a cost of 7 Euros per person including one drink, with a choice of two dishes, meat or vegetarian. The menus are as follows:- Saturday: Menu 1 Braised beef with potatoes - Menu 2- Tortellini with ricotta and a herbed sauce Sunday: Menu 1 Roast pork with a dumpling and cabbage IMPORTANT Menu 2 Penne noodles with a tomato and vegetable sauce. Please let us know per email the numbers for each choice by the end of April so that we can print the coupons. These coupons will be given to you when you register and payment must be made then, 7 Euros per person per meal including a drink, youth choirs 6 Euros per person per meal including a drink. STAGE The main stage is in the Festival Hall, it has space for approx. 80 singers. Snacks and drinks are always available. Piano: Boston grand piano. A sound system, with studio microphones are on stage plus two radio controlled microphones and a CD player. A technician is always available. SIDE STAGES One is on the first floor of the Hauptschule One is on the second floor of the Hauptschule One open air stage (for good weather only) is in the festival grounds. One is on the second floor of the Volksschule. The church in Oberau is a large baroque style church with wonderful acoustics which is where the Church Concert will be held as well as the Festival Mass. All stages have professional stage pianos, sound systems with studio microphones and radio controlled microphones. There will be drinks available everywhere. FESTIVAL PROGRAMM FRIDAY Arrival: registration at the Festival Office. 20.00 CONCERT IN THE PARISH CHURCH OBERAU. Some choirs have registered for the church concert and will be singing 2 to 3 songs (mainly church literature which will be studied beforehand and needs to be sent by the end of April per email to be put into the program). This concert is in the large baroque church of St.Margarethe and everyone is welcome, active participants and guests. A professional piano is available. The practise time is between 17.00 and 19.00 hours in the church. ENTERTAINMENT EVENING- After the church concert all choirs are welcome to come to the main Festival Hall, to sing together in a relaxed atmosphere, anything goes. SATURDAY MORNING 09.00 to 12.00 Workshops The exact place will be given to you later. More explicit details of the workshops can be found on our Festival Homepage http: www.gospelchor-w.info/festival/index.html. 14.00 Official opening of the Festival on stage in the main Festival Hall. Each choir will be greeted and introduced. FROM 14.30 The choirs will present themselves with 2 to 3 performances of approx. 25 mins. on different stages. There will be enough time for every choir to hear other choirs and to meet and interact. The program you present is totally your choice. Side 3 / 5

At 20.00 the film clips from the Cold Water Challenge will be shown on the main stage. Afterwards choirs will perform on the main stage, open air stage or other stages. It will be a colourful festive evening, a choir festival...singing, interacting, and enjoying the company of new friends. Songs from the afternoon can also be sung. If a choir doesn t want to go on stage in the evening, please tell us by the end of April by email. The exact times and on which stage you will perform will be sent to you in May. SUNDAY 10.00 Some choirs will perform a short concert. 12.00 Children s performance and a surprise concert. Children will perform on the main stage and sing together with the audience and choirs. 13.00 Practise for the Festival Mass in the church. You will find the notes for this on our website under DOWNLOADS UND INFOS FÜR TELNEHMER, click on the second in the list: DOWNLOADS NOTEN + INFO ZUR FESTMESSE. There are eight songs in all. All choirs are very welcome to join in. This is a translation of what it says under the list of songs:- 14.00 The Mass begins. After the church service we will have a get together with an official good bye. I would like to thank you in the name of the Gospelchor Wildschönau for participating in this Festival Mass. It will be a great experience and a good end to the festival. We will sing the Schubert-Messe together with the organ and the brass band. When you open the download of the notes you will see what is for all the choirs to sing together, women 1 st. Row (SA), men 2 nd row (TB). The women s choirs and the women sing the (SA) and the men s choirs and men the (TB). Please can you print the notes yourselves for all the members of your choir and bring them with you. It would be much appreciated if you could practise these songs at home before you come to the Festival. It is more fun when you know the songs. Our practise, altogether in the church, will last about one hour. We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for participating in this wonderful Mass. FRIDAY AFTERNOON / SATURDAY MORNING There are many varied attractions in the valley from travelling up the Markbachjoch in the gondola to taking the slow train through the Kundler Gorge. All tourist attractions can be found on the Tourist Office web site and by using your Wildschönau card some are free of charge and some with a reduced rate.
